PROVIDE FOR A VOTE BEING TAKEN OF TRE ELECTORS ON THE ~UESTION,
"ARE YOU IN FAVOUR OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING
PUBLIC LIBRABY?"
WHER.EAS certain residents of the Township o£ Picketing have sub-
mitted a petition of at least 60 electors asking Council to provide
For a vote of the electors on a Township of Picketing Public Library;
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Municipal Council of the Township of
Picketing as follows:
1. In this By-Law "electors" shall mean persons entitled to vote
on Money By-Laws.
2. The area of the Township of Pickering Public Library shall
comprise the whole of the Township of Picketing.
3. The votes,gl the Electors shall be taken on the said question
on the Third day of December, A.D., 1966, between the hoursm of
1D oSclock in the forenoon and seven otcloek in the afternoon,
at the various Polling Booths at the same ~me and place as the
Municipal Elections are held.
4. On the 30th day of November, A.D. 1960, at the hour of 10
o~clock in the Forenoon, the Bead of the Council of the said
Corporation, or some m~mber of the said Council appointed
for that purpose by resolution, shall attend at the office
of the Clerk of the said Municipality, in the Village of
Brougham, for the purpose of appointing, and if requested so
to do, shall appoint by writing, two persons to attend the
final summing up of the votes by the Clerk - one person to
attend on behalf of the person entrusted in the voting in the
affirmative on the said question, and a like mumber on behalf of
the persons interested in and ~oting in the negative on the
said question.
5. On the ~th day of December, A.D. 1960, at the hour of 10 otclock
in the forenoon, at the office of the Clerk of the Municipality,
the Clerk shall attend and sum up th~ votes given in the
affirmative and negative on the said question.
