HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 2451THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP O' PICMING BY-LAW NUMBER W S" A BY-LAW TO PROOBIT THE ERECTION OR CONTINUANCE OF MANUFACTORIES OR TRADES, WHICH MAY PROVE TO BE OR MAY CAUSE NUISANCES. WHEREAS by Section 388(1)(110) of the Municipal Act, R. S. 0. 1950, Chapter 243 as amended, councils of local municipalities for prohibiting manufactories or trades which, in the opinion of the council, may prove to be or may cause nuieanoss. AND WHEREAS in the opinion of the council of the Corporation of the Township of Pickering, the manufactories and trades hereinafter mentioned may prove to be or may cause nuisances and it is desirable that such manufactories and trades be prohibited in the Township of Pickering. NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP CF PICKERING ENACTS AS FOd.CWSS 1. No person shall erect or continue at any place in the Township of Pickering any gas works, tannery, distillery or other manufactory or trade which by reason of noise, vibration, escaping odour, and escaping material, or any one or more of these effects is or may cause a nuisances..., -Cl- :v 2. Every person who contravenes any of the provisions of this by-law shall upon conviction thereof be liable for a penalty of not more than three hundred ($300.00) dollars i e=luaive of costs for each such offense, such penalty to be recoverable under The Summary Convictions Act.
