A BY-LAW OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING TO ASSESS
POLICE AREA NUMBER ONE FOR RATES FOR THE YEAR 1956.
WHEREAS the assessment of POLICE AREA NUMBER ONE is $6,461,209.20
for the year 1956, and the police Commission has approved a budget
of $45,911.03;
AND WHEREAS POLICE AREA NUMBER ONE requires the sum of $6,461.21,
or one (1) mill, to defray the cost of the new Police Building for
1956;
AND WHEREAS the estimated fines for 1956 are $5,000.00;
AND WHEREAS POLICE AREA NUMBER TWO is policed by the Ontario
Provincial Police with a Township By-law Enforcement officer
over the whole of the Township, so that no rate is required;
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Municipal Council of the Township
of Pickering that:-
There be levied, raised and collected from and upon all the rateable
property in Police Area Number One the rate of 7.4 Mills, which will
amount to the sum of $47,812.95 in the year 1956.
