A By-law of the Municipality of the TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING to close a
portion of the allowance for road in of 26 between Concession 1 and
Range 3 Broken Front, for the purpose of building a POLICE STATION at
this location.
WHEREAS the Clerk of the Township of Pickering has posted signs and
advertised in the local newspaper the closing of the said road in
accordance with the Road Closing Act, and there has not been cause
shown, in the opinion of Council, why the road should not be closed.
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Municipal Council of the Township of
Pickering :
1. ALL AND SINGULAR that certain parcel or tract of land and
premises situate, lying and being in the Township of Pickering in
the County of Ontario and Province of Ontario, and being composed
of part of the allowance for road between Concession 1 and Range 3
in front of Lot 26 in the said Township, containing by admeasurement
0.453 acres be the same more or less, which said parcel of land is
more particularly described as follows :-
PREMISING that the bearing of the said allowance for road
is N 720 54, E and relating all bearings herein thereto;
COMMENCING at a point in the south limit of Lot 26,
Concession 1 in the said Township, distant 564.96 feet measured
Easterly therealong from the south west angle of said Lot 26,
the said Point of Commencement being on the south limit of
Provincial Highway #2 as widened by deposited Plan #31 (Highways)
for the County of Ontario;
THENCE N 720 541 E along the said south limit of said
Lot 26, 187.19 feet to a point therein;
THENCE S 330 48f E, 68.92 feet more or less to a point
in the south limit of the aforesaid allowance for road between
Concession 1 and Range 3 in the said Township;
THENCE S 720 541 W along the said south limit, 411.05
feet more or less to its point of intersection with the south
limit of Provincial Highway #2 as widened by deposited plan #31
(Highways) for the County of Ontario;
THENCE N 540 59' E along the said south limit of Provincial
Highway #2, 214.45 feet more or less to the POINT OF COMMENCEMENT;
be closed as a Township road.
2. When this By-law shall have been duly confirmed and
approved, the said allowance for road shall be vested in
the Municipality of the Township of Pickering.
3. This By-law shall come into force and take effect at
once after it shall have been confirmed by the Council of the
Corporation of the County of Ontario.
