A BY-LAW OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF' THE TOWNSHIP OF PICK°RING, TO LEVY
A RATE TO COVER COST OF OPERATION OF THE. SEViiRAL FIRE DFPARTPTEI'PS.
WHEREAS under By-Law No. 1,923 a FIRE AREA was created comprising
Lots No. 24 to 3u, inclusive from Lake Ontario to half way between
Concessions No. 3 and No. 4, known as FIRE AREA 110. 1, and has an
assessment of 7.T9.3 o_.

WHEREAS the remaining part of the Township secures protection
from the Police Villages of Pickering and Claremont and the Brour_ham
Fire Brigade, each receiving a yearly guarantee of FOUR HUTIDRED
DOLLARS (?VOO -) ;
AND WH7?RAS the assessment for the Police Villages of Claremont and
c erinF, for the year 1952, is 9v3. ?//. g? and as they own
their local fire fiPhtIng equipment, are exempt from further levy;
AND WHEREAS the assessment of the Municipality, excludinT Fire Area
No.7 and_fhe two Police. Villages of Claremont and Pickering, is

AND WHEREAS Fire Area No. 1 requires the sum of ZL1 / ?.3 and the
remaining area requires the sum of /-5-32. ?a FOR _PF OPERATION OF
fire equipment for the year 1952;
BE IT TH^REFORF, F,NACTED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE TOWNSHIP OF
PICyERIN(,:
1. That there be rai_see levied and collected fro,:i and upon all
the rateable property in Fire Area No. 1, in the vear 1952,
the rate or sum of -.0 Mills on the Dollar amounting to

the rateable property in the Municipality, excludinv Fire Area
No. 1 and the two Police Villages of Pickering and Claremont,
