To appoint a CHIEF OF POLICE for the TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING.
WHEREAS at a recent meeting of Council a Committee was appointed
to investigate and bring in a report on local police matters;
AND WHEREAS said report recommended that applications be called
or a Police Chief and said report was accepted and approved by
Council :
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED; by the Municipal Council of the TOWNSHIP
of PICKERING :-
(1) That Chief Constable JOHN B. IRVINE

(2) That LOCKHART W. TRINNELL be and he
appointed Chief Constable of the Township

Chief Constable in the discharge of his duties; that the
Woodbridge and Vaughan Telephone Company's account, necessary
long distance calls, meals for prisoners in transit, postage
stamps and flashlight batteries be supplied by the Township;
said salary and expenses to be paid monthly.
. (I4) That the said Chief Constable be empowered to enforce
the Liquor Control Act and amendments thereto.
(5) That while the said LOCKHART W. TRINNELL continues
.,' in the said office he shall devote full time to the duties
/ of his position and shall not engage in any other business,

(6) That all By-laws contrary to or inconsistent with the
provisions of this By-law be and the same are hereby repealed.
