A BY-LAW RESTRICTING PARKING
TOWNSH%P OF PICKERING.
The Council of the Corporation of the Town~hip of Pickering
enacts as follows:-
DEFINITIONS
For the purpose of this By-law:-
Park means the standing of a vehicle, whether occupied or
not, otherwise than temporarily for the purpose of and while
actually engaged in loading or unloading.
Street or High~ay includes a common or public highway, street,
avenue, parkway, driveway, square, place, bridge, viaduct or
trestle, designed and intended for, or used by, the general
public for the passage of vehicles.
Vehicle means every device in, upon or by which any person or
property is or may be transported or drawn upon e highway,
except devices moved by h~nan power.
PARKING RESTRICTIONS.
When properly worded signs have been erected and are on
display no person shall park a vehicle on the following
designated street in the Township of Picketing :-
PENALTY
The East side of the travelled portion
of the roadway of the sideline between
Lots No. 8 and No.9 in the North half
of the First Concession of the Township
of Picketing, tht~ ro~d being known as
UNIVERSITY DRIVE~ ~~ ~ ~--~
Any person violating any of the provisions of this By-law
shall be sub3ect to a penalty of not more than Ten Dollars
($10.00) for the first offence and not more than Twenty-five
Dollars ($25.00) for every subsequent offence, exclusive of
costs, and all such penalties shall be recoverable under
the Ontario Summary Convictions Act.
This By-law shall not become effective until approved by
the Department of Highways and until the signs referred
to herein have been erected and are on display.
