~y-lew to assess the Municipality of the Township of Plokerlng,
exclusive of the Police Villages of Picketing and Claremont, for the
improvement and repair of roads and bridges, payment of salaries and
the general expenses of the Corporation~ in the year 1947; to assess
the said Police Villages of Pickering and Claremont, for village and
township purposes in the said year; to assess the whole of the said
3[unicipality to defray the cost of relief during the said year; to
essaas the whole of the said _,Lunicipality for a general school rate,
to provide funds for the Township statutory grants to public schools
in the said yaar; to assess the whole of the acid Municipality, in
the year 1947, for roads and general purposes of the County of Ont-
ario; end in the same year to assess the whole of the said ~unici-
pallty, excepting the two continuation school districts which are
composed of Public School oections 4 West and 15 of the said town-
ship, for use of the County in aiding in the maintenance of High
and Continuation %chools, in the said year.
WtiEREAS it will require the su~n of $34,235.28 from that part of
the ~unicipality of the Township of Picketing apart from the Police
Villages of Picketing and Claremo~t for the improvement and repair
of roads and bridges, the payment of salaries and the general ex-
penses of the ~,[unicipality, in the year 1947:
AND WHERF~S it will require the sum of $1,661.80 to defray the
general expenses of the Police Village of Pickering and to cover the
share of the Police Village in sundry services and expenses of the
,wunicipality during the said year:
~D V,~EREAS it will require the sum of $1,135o58 to defray the
general expenses of the Police Village of Claremont an~ to cover the
share of the Police Village in sundry services and expenses of the
Municipality during the said year:
A~ND ~.~ffEREAS it will require the sum of $3,822.18 to defray the
cost to the whole of the Municipality of relief to the unemployed
and poor end hospitalization of same, in the said year:
AND WHEREAS the amount to be raised by general levy from the
whole of the said Municipality, in the present year for the peymant

of the statutory township grants to public schools requireA by
Section 112 of the Public Schools Act, R. S. 0. 1937, as the same
has been amended by Section 34 of the Public School emendment Act
1938, is the sum of $17,202.56.
AND WHEREAS it is estimated by the County Council of the
~ounty of Ontario it will require the levy and collection from
and upon all the rateable property in the ~uniclpality of the
Township of Picketing, in the year 1947, of the following
amounts for the purposes of the said County, that is to say:
For General Purposes )
For County Roads I~stimated
For Suburban Roads
For County Home 41,194.59
AND w~i~REAS under authority of the Public Schools Act, it is
estimated by the said County Council it will require the levy and
collection from and upon all these portions of the said Municipal-
ity of the Township of Pickering as are not included within the
limits of the Continuation Schools oistricts composed of Public
School Sections Numbers 4 West and 15 in the year 1947 the estimated
sum of $7,271.09 for the use of the said County in paying the
grants and allowances to High and Contlnuetion Schools as required
by the provisions of the said Public Schools Act.
AND WHEREAS the total amount of taxable property in the said
~unlclpality, apart from the Police Villages of Plckering end
Claremont, in the year 1947, is $3,925,063.89
AND ~'HEREAS the total amount of taxable property in the said
Police Village of Pickerlng, in the said year, is $190,573.70:
AND WHEREAS the total amount of taxable property in the said
Police Village of Claremont, tn the said year, is $13~,227.46:
AND ~HEREAS the total amount of taxable property in the said
Municipality, including all portions thereof, in the said year
19~?, is the sum of $4,246,865.05:
AND ~.HEREAS the total amount of taxable property in the
Continuation School District composed of Public ~chool Section
Number 4 West, in the said year, is $311,933o05:
AND 7~EBEAS the total amount of taxable property in the
Continuation School District, composed of Public School Section
No. 1721
Number 15, in the said year,

of taxable property in the said Nunici-
pality, apart from the said Continuation School Districts, in the
year, is $3,635,544.54:
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Nunlclpal Corporation of the
Township of Plckering:
1. That there be raised, levied end collected from end upon ell the
rateable property in the ~unicipality of the Township of Picketing,
exclusive of the Police Villages of Picketing and Claremont, the rate
or sum of 8.72 mills on the dollar, which will amount to the sum of
$34,235.28 for the i~provement and repair of roads and bridges, the
payment of salaries and the general expenses of the ~unicipellty in
the year 1947, as stated in the preamble of this ~y-law.
2. That there be raised, levied and collected from and upon all the
taxable property in the Police Village of Pi~kering, in the year 1947,
the rate or sum of 8.72 mills on the dollar, which will amount to the
sum of ~1,661.80, fo~· the purposes of the said village and township,
as stated in the said preamble.
Z. That there be raised, levied and collected from and upon ell the
rateable property in the Police Village of Claremont, in the year 1947,
the rate or sum of 8.72 mills on the dollar, which will amount to the
~um of $1,135.58, for the purposes of the said village end township,
as stated in the said preamble.
4. That there be raised, levied and collected from end upon all the
rateable property in the said ~,~nicipality of the Township of Pickering
including the said Police ¥illages of Pickering and Claremont, in the
year 1947, the rate or sum of .9 mills on the dollar, which will amount
to the sum of $3,822.18 to defray the cost of ~iving relief to the
unemployed ~nd poor end hospiteliz~tion of same in the said J~unicipality
during the said year, es stated in the preamble.
5. That there be raised, levied and collected from and upon all the
rateable property in the said ~unlcipality, including ~he said Police
Villages of Pickering and Claremont, in the year 1947, the rate or sum
of 4.05 mills on the dollar, which will amount to the sum of $17,199.98

~unlcipslity, in the said year, as stated in the said preamble.

6. That there be raised, levied and collected from and upon all the
rateable property in the said ~unicipellty of the Township of Picker-
lng including the said Police Villsges of Picketing and Claremont, in
the year 1947, the rate or sum of 9.7 mills on the dollar, which will
amount to the sum of $41,194o59, for the general purposes of the Cor-
poration of the County of Ontario, including maintenance and improve-
ment Of county and suburban roads, in the said year, es stated in the
preamble.
7. That there be raised, levied ~nd collected from and upon all
the rateable property in these portions of the ~unicipslity of the
Township of Pickering apart from the aforesaid Continuation School
.Jistricts which are composed of Public school Sections Numbers
4 i~est and 15 of the said Township, in the year 1947, the rate or
sum of 2. mills on the dollar, amounting to the sum of $7,271.09,
for the use of the said Corporation of the County of Ontario, in
the said year, in aiding in the maintenance of High and Continua-
tion Schools, as stated in the preamble.
