Of the Municipal Corporation of the Township of Picketing to authorize
the Woodbridge and Vau~han Telephone Company Limited to erect and maintain
Poles, Wires and Cables upon the Highways in tlae said Township.
~HEMEAS, the Woodbridge and Vaughan Telephone Company Limited as requested
the Council off the Corporation of the Township of Picketing, to permit it
to erect and maintain poles, wires or cables upon the highways in the said
Township off Pick. ring and it is deemed expedient to grant the request of
the said Company subject to the approval of the Ontario Municipal Board
first being had thereto;
_BE. IT THEMEPOME ENACTED by the Municipal Co~poration of the Township of
Pick. ring and it is hereby enacted as follows, that is to say:
THAT the Woodbridge and VaUghan Telephone Company, Limited, be and
is hereby authorized and empowered to construct or otherwise aqUire
telephone lines and to erect or otherwise acquire the necessary poles
and wires for the same and to maintain and keep up the same upon the
highway of the said Township of Picketing and to use any of the said
Highways of the said Township of Pick. ring for placing in, upon, over
or under the same, the poles, cables, ducts and wires necessary for
the purpose of its business·
THAT the construction of the said Telephone Lines, and the erection
of the said poles and wires shall be carried out in accordance with
the specifications prescribed by the Ontario Municipal Board and
under the supervision of the Council of the Corporation of the Town-
ship off Pick. ring or its Commissioner appointed for that purpose,
and a plan showing the location of the said line or lines shall be
Filed in the orifice of the Municipal Clerk of the said Township
her.re the said lines shall be constructed.
THAT the said Telephone Lines, poles, wires or cables shall be
erected so as not to interfere with the lines, poles and works of
any other telephone or telegraph company at present constructed upon
any such highway.
THAT the said Telephone lines, poles, wires or cables shall be so
constructed, erected and maintained as shall not interfere with the
public right off travelling on or using highways, roads, streets,
bridges, waters or water courses,
THAT the said the Woodbridge and Yaughan Telephone Company, Limited,
shall indemniffy the Corporation of the Township of Pick. ring against
any action or claims for damages which may be brought against the
said Corporation For or by reason of the construction, operation and
maintenance of the said works.
This By-Law is subject to the approval thereof by the Ontario Municipal
Board first being had and obtained and to the issue of Supplementary
I~tters Patent authorizing the said Company to operate and carry on a
general telephone system or business within this ~ownship.
Done and finally passed under the Seal of the Municipal Corporation of
the Township of Pick. ring this 6th day of February, A.D. 1939.
