A BY-LAW TO ALTER PARTS OF CERTAIN ROAD ALLOWANCES IN THE TOWNSHIP OF
PICKERING.
BE IT ENACTED by the Corporation of Pickering that the Road Surveyed and
laid out by John Shier, Provincial Land Surveyor, through part of Lot No. 16
in the 2nd Concession of the Township of Pickering as appears by his report
to the Corporation aforesaid bearing date the 17th day of June 1859 and
which site for a road may be more definitely described as follows, that is
to say:
Commencing on the westerly limit of said lot at the distance of 25 chains
from the north west angle thereof and running thence south 610 E. 1 chain
and 42 links thence south 160 East 7 chains thence south 290 West 1 chain
42 links to the westerly limit of the said lot thence north 160 west 9
chains on the said westerly limit to the place of beginning, containing
4/5 of an acre,
And the same is established as a Public Road or Highway.
AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED by the authority aforesaid that a certain alter-
ation or diversion of the line of road between Lots 14 & 15 in the 2nd
Concession of the said Township of Pickering surveyed by Wm. E. Yarnold,
a Provincial Land Surveyor, and which may be otherwise known as follows,
that is to say:
Commencing at the north west angle of Lot No. 14 in the 2nd Concession
thence south 160 East 7 chains ninety links thence north 60 westxfour (xEast
chains forty links thence north 160 30" west three chains eighty links
thence south 740 west 65 links to the place of beginning.
And the same is established as a Public Road or Highway.
AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED that the Reeve be authorized and empowered on
behalf of this Corporation to take a deed from John A. Haight of said
last mentioned property and also to give said John A. Haight a deed of
the part of the road allowance which he receives from the Corporation,
which part of said road allowance may be otherwise known as follows,
that is to say:
Commencing at the north east angle of Lot No. 15 in the 2nd Concession
of Pickering, then south 160 east seven chains eighty five links, then
north 60 west four chains ten links then north 16035 west three chains
eighty links then south 740 west 57 links to the place of beginning.
