HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 1421B Y- L A W N U M B E R 1 4 2 1 Of The Corporation of The Township of Pickering A BY-IAW TO CLOSE THE ORIGINAL ALLOWANCE FOR ROAD BETWEEN LOTS NUMBERS 14 and 15 IN THE EIGHTH CONCESSION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF DICKERING, AND TO CLOSE THE ORIGINAL ALLOWANCE FOR ROAD BETWEEN LOTS NUMBERS 6 AND 7 IN THE NINTH CONCESSION OF THE SAME TOWNSHIP, AND TO SELL AND CONVEY THE SAID ORIGINAL ALLOWANCES FOR ROADS. WHEREAS the original allowances for roads above and hereinafter described are not required for road purposes and it is deemed expedient that they should be stopped up and closed as public highways and sold; AND WHEREAS the closing and sale of the said original allowances for roads meets with the approval of all the owners of the lands abutting the said original allowances for roads; AND WHEREAS printed notices of this By-Law have been posted up for more than one month in six of the most public places in the immediate neighbour- hood of each of the said original allowances for roads, and said notice has been published for four consecutive weeks in The Pickering News, a newspaper published in the said Township of Pickering; AND WHEREAS this Council has heard in person or by Counsel, Solicitor or Agent, all persons whose land might be prejudicially affected by the pass- ing of this By-Law who applied to be so heard; NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the Township of Pickering ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. The original allowance for road between Lots Numbers Fourteen (14) and Fifteen (15) in the Eighth Concession of the said Township of Pickering and the original" allowance for road between Lots Numbers Six (6) and Seven (7) in the Ninth Concession of the same Township be and the same are hereby stopped up and closed as public highways, and each of the same are hereby declared to be no longer public highways. 2. When this By-Law shall have been duly confirmed and approved the said original allowances for roads shall be sold in manner as directed by law and for prices respectively that shall be satisfactory to the Council of this Corporation, and on sale thereof, or any of them, shall be by deed conveyed to the respective purchasers. 3. This By-Law shall come into force and take effect at once after it shall have been confirmed by the Council of the Corporation of the County of Ontario. PASSED this 5th day of February, 1934. "Z. L. When this By-Law shall have been duly confirmed and approved the said original allowances for roads shall be sold in manner as directed by law and for prices respectively that shall be satisfactory to the Council of this Corporation, and on sale thereof, or any of them, shall be by deed conveyed to the respective purchasers. 3.
