An�D "vVHEREAS, as authorized by the It4�znicipal Act, and by request of
tne subscribers to the said Yark funds, and �vith the concurrence of
the Council of the said Corporation, the said land has been dul,y
conveyed by the said George Amos Brianall to the said Corporation,
bv a deed bearina date t��e Seconci dav of Apri1, ]923, and registered
in the ReQistr,y 01'£ice for the Re!;istry T�ivision of the CountY of
Ontario on the 22nd day of June, 1y23, as number 16199 for the Townsiiip
of Pickering, to have and to hold the same in trust, that it mav be
used for the pnrposes of a P7emorial Park anc� Athletic Grounds.
AnID WHEREAS bzT request of the said subscriber9, it is expe@ient that a
3oarc�of six Trustees should be appointed to manage and control the
said park and athletic grounds, and to define the powers and dutles
of the said Board:

as o ow9:-
1. The said Council, £or the said Corporation, do herehq
accept of the trust created bv the aforesaid Deed of Conve,yance
re�istered as number 16189.
2. (1) The aforesaid park and athletic grounds shall be known
by the name of "The Claremont A�te.morial Perk", and the same shall
be mana�;ed, controlled and governed by a Board of six Trustees,
to be appointed by the said Council as hereinafter provided, and
sucn Trustees shall be residents of that portion of the A�,unicipality
of Pickerin� Township which lies to tl-.e north of the Sixth Qoncession
line of said Township.
(2) The said Council shall forthwith appoint two ItIembers of
such Board of Trustees for a term extendin�; from the date of this
B,y-law to the first da,y of February 1925: Shall forthwith
appoint two thereof for a term extendin�; from the date hereof
to the fi.rst day of Februar,y 1926; and shall forthwith appoint
two thereof for a term extendin� from the date hereof to the
first day of Febriiar,y 1q27.
�3) At the first statutory meeting of the said Council in
each of the pears iollowinu, the year 1924 twc Pnembers shall be
appointed by the said Council, in place of the two whose term
is then about to expire, for the term of three ,years from the
first day of February following such first statutory meetin; of
the Council, but everv Member of the said Trustee Board shall
continue in office until his successor is appointed, and shall
be eligible for re-appointment.
(4) In case of a vacaney by the death, removal or resi�nation,
or from any cause other than the expira�ion of the time for which
he was appointed, the T4ember appointed in his place shall hold
office for the remainder of his terry and until his su.ecessor is
appointed.
(S) Save as aforesaid, each of the Members of such Trustee
Board shall hold office for three ,years from tne first dav of
Febrizary in the ,year in wtiich he is appointed.
(6) If for anv reason appointments are not made at the
prescribed time the 4ame sha11 be made as soon as may be
thereafter.

3. (1) Tne inau�ural meeting of such Roard of Trustees,
following tha passing of this Rv-law, snall be held at any
convenient time during the present month of July, and thereafter
in each year the inau�ural meeting of the Board shall be held
on the second Monday in February� or such other date RS the Board
of the previous year ma�r appoint, and at such inaugural meetinos
the Board shall elect a Ch�irman and appoint a Secretary-Treasurer
or a Secretarv and a Treasurer, who may be Nembers of the Board,
or such Chairman and other officers ma�� hold o;fice for such
other terms as tne noard ma`* prescribe, and in all cases shall
continue to hold office izntil successors shall have been elected
or appointed.
(2} When the Chairman or Secretarg-Treasurer, SP�retary or
Treasurer is absent, or unahle to act, the Board mav appoint a
substitute pro tempore.
(3) The said Board shall meet at least everv two months.
(1_i�) The Roard may make regulations establishing regular
dates for its meetinR�, or may adjourn to meet again on any
certain date.
(5) The Chairman �r any two �4embers mag summon a special
meetina of the Soard, by givin� at least t�xo days notice in
writing to each member, speciftrin�; the purpose for which the
meeting is called.
(5) The office of � Pdember who is absent from the meetin�s
of the Board for four consecutive months, without leave of
absence from the Board, shall be declared vacant by the Board,
and notice thereof shall be given to the Council at its next
meetin;, when the Council shall. fi11 such vacancy.
(7) No business shall be transacted. at anv sperial, �eneral
or reaular me�tinR of the Board unless at lAast four of the
Members are present..
(t3) All orders and proceedinns of the Board shall be entered
in books to be kept for that purpose and shall be signed by the
Chairman for t'ne time being.
4. (1) The F�oard shall keep accounts of its receipts, pa�rments,
credits and liabilities, and arranne for the proper 2udit at the
end of each calendar ,year. �
(2) The T3oard ma,y from time to time make such re�ulations
as thev may deem expedient, definina the dutias of its Secretary-
Treasurer or Ser,retar,q and Treasiirer, and £or the bankina and
control of the funds comin� into posse�;sion or under the control
of the Board from time to time.
5. (1) The said Board shall have the full mana�;ement and control
of the aforesaid park and athletic grounds, and is herebv
empowered to formulate and make rules and regulations, from time
to tima, and amend and repeal the same at 3ts pleasure, for the
governing and u:�e of the same; and for providin� funds for the
upkeep and improvement of said park and athletic Qrounds, the
Board ma,y, from time to time, at its discretion, make and establish
a tariff of fees to be paid for the use of or aclmission to the
said park or athletic grounds, or for uoe of, or admission to
any buildinF; or buildin�;s whicn mav hereafter be erected thereon,
in connection with anv speeial occasion, event, field dav or ,:ame;
or may, at its discretion, arant free ��se o£ the same for anv such
special ocr,�sion, event, field day or eame; and may, at its
discretion, lease and let any portion of Y,�e said ?�ark grounds
for less than one year terms, so lon�; as such �.eas�n�- and letting
would not int�rfere with its full use as a park and athletic arounds.
(2} The �;oard ma�� permit any n�rsons or ormanization securin�
the use of the parl� and athletic <rrc�i�nds, or of an� 'ouildinz;s w?�ich
mav hereafter be erected thereon for antr partictilar event, celebra-
tion or p;ame, to charc;e admis�ion fees.
('�) The ?�oard s���ll have power to let the nrivilene of sallinT

char�es, arants, bequests, donat9_ons and from all other sources,
ehall be used and disbur�ed bv the Board for the upkeep,
beautification and improvement of the park and for the erer.tion
of buildings, fences and cther necessar,y conveniences and
structures, but for no othen purpose exrentinr* necessary
obli�;ations incurred in connacti�n with t?ie onP^3ti�n �n�l
�*overnment of the par'_� and atnletic ^rc�unds.
