A By-law of the Corporation of the
Township of Pickering to proclaim
Senior Citizens' Week in the
Township of Pickering.
WHEREAS the Provincial Government has announced that the
third week in June will be proclaimed as Senior Citizens'
Week in Ontario;
AND WHEREAS the Provincial Government is requesting the
Councils of the various municipalities to support Ontario
Senior Citizens' Week, 1973, by proclaiming the week of
June 17 to Saturday, June 23, 1973 as Senior Citizens'
Week, and further, that the planning for all activities
and events of special programs and projects should involve
all organizations and individuals including the senior
citizens and to make the Province-wide Senior Citizens'
Week a success; and further, make as many people as
possible aware of the contributions of the elderly, the
services for the elderly and what it means to grow older;
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the Council of the Township
of Pickering does hereby endorse the recognition of our
senior citizens by our Provincial Government and does
hereby proclaim the week of June 17 - 23, 1973, as Ontario
Senior Citizens' Week in the Township of Pickering.
By-law read a First, Second and Third Time and PASSED in
open Council this day of ?2lae , 1973.
