being a by-law to authorize the purchase
of part of Lots 1 and 2, Plan 350, in the
Town of Pickering, as a public library site
and the borrowing of $82,000.00 in payment
thereof.
WHEREAS it is deemed advisable to purchase the
lands hereinafter described from the Board of Centennial
Rouge United Church as a public library site;
AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient for the purpose
of purchasing the said lands to borrow a sum not
exceeding the sum of $82,000.00.
AND WHEREAS the total cost of the purchase of
the library site will be levied by an annual rate
against all the rateable property in the Town of
Pickering over a period of 20 years;
AND WHEREAS application has been made to the
Council of the Regional Municipality of Durham to
borrow said sum and to issue debentures therefor;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION
OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The purchase of those parts of Lots 1 and 2,
Plan 350, described in Schedule "A" hereto annexed
and forming part of this by-law for the sum of $80,000.00
be and the same is hereby authorized.
2. That there shall be borrowed for the purpose set out
in Clause 1 the sum of $82,000.00 which sum shall be a
charge against all the rateable property in the Town of
Pickering.
3. That the special rate to pay for the said public
library site shall be paid in 20 annual instalments.

SCHEDULE "A"
BY-LAW NO. /an 7?
ALL AND SINGULAR that certain parcel or tract of land
and premises situate, lying and being in the Town of Pickering,
in the Regional Municipality of Durham,_and the Province of Ontario,
being composed of parts of lots 1 and 2 according to a plan filed in
the Registry Office for the County of Ontario as No. 350, the
boundaries of the said parcel of land being described as follows:
COMMENCING at a point in a line drawn parallel to the
westerly limit of the said lot 1 and distant Seventy-five feet
(751) easterly therefrom measured at right angles thereto, the
said point being distant one hundred and eighty feet Three and
three-quarter inches (180' 3-3/4") measured southerly thereon from
the northerly limit of the said lot being the southerly limit of
Kingston Road;
THENCE Easterly and parallel with the southerly limit
of the said lots 1 and 2 Two hundred and ten feet Ten inches
(210' 10") more or less to the easterly limit of the said lot 2
being the westerly limit of Rougemount Road;
THENCE Southerly along the last mentioned limit One
hundred and ninety-two feet and three-quarters of an inch (192' 0-3/4")
more or less to the north-westerly limit of a right-of-way Twenty-five
feet (25') in perpendicular width immediately adjoining the northerly
limit of the Kings Highway known as New Kingston Road as shown on
Deposited plan 45;
THENCE South-westerly along the said north-westerly
limit one hundred and thirty feet eight and three-quarter incises
(130' 8-3/4") to where the same would be intersected by the southerly
limit of the said lot 2;
THENCE WESTERLY along the southerly limits of the said
lots 2 and 1 Ninety feet seven and one-quarter inches (90' 7-1/411)
more or less to where the same would be intersected by the aforesaid
line drawn parallel to the westerly limit of the said lot 1;
THENCE Northerly along the last mentioned parallel line
Two hundred and forty-two feet Ten and one-half inches (242' 10-1/2")
more or less to the point of commencement.
TOGETHER WITH a right-of-way at all times in common with
all others now or hereafter entitled thereto over, along and upon
a strip of land Twenty-five feet (25') in perpendicular width
immediately adjoining the northerly limit of the aforesaid King's
Highway, the said strip of land extending from the easterly limit
of the allowance for road between lots 32 and 33, Range 111 of the
said Town, to the westerly limit of Rougemount Road aforesaid.
