THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING
BY-LAW NUMBER _1 !i
A by-law of the Corporation of the
Town of Pickering to stop up and
close a portion of the road allow-
ance between Lots 18 and 19 Range II,
Broken Front Concession.
WHEREAS the Ontario Hydro has requested the Town to close that
portion of the road allowance between Lots 18 and 19 in Range
II, Broken Front Concession (Brock Road), more particularly
described in Schedule A attached hereto;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Pickering proposes to stop up and close as a public highway
the lands described in Schedule A for a period of time
coincident with the construction period involved in the
expansion of the Pickering Nuclear Station;
AND WHEREAS it is the intent of the Council of the Corporation
of the Town of Pickering to re-open the said road allowance on
the completion of the construction program noted;
AND WHEREAS notice of this By-law has been published once a
week for four consecutive weeks and the provision of the
Municipal Act relating to the stopping up and selling of a
highway have been complied with, as provided for under the
Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1970 Chapter 284, Section 443 (1), (3) (d);
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Pickering hereby enacts as follows:
1. The lands described in Schedule A hereto attached
are hereby stopped up and closed as a public highway.
2. The said Schedule A hereto attached shall form a part
of this By-law.
3. For the purpose of illustration only a plan showing
the lands described in Schedule A coloured in red
and referred to as Schedule B is attached hereto and
shall form part of this By-law.
By-law read a First, Second and Third Time and PASSED in open
Council this ay of 1974.
