BY-LAW NX]MBER d66 /75
Being a By-law for limiting the
number of Automobile Service
Stations and Public Garages.
WHEREAS paragraph 133 Section 354 (1) of the Municipal Act
R.S.O. 1970 c. 284 and the amendments thereto provides that
By-laws may be passed for limiting the number of Automobile
Service Stations and Public Garages.
NOW THEREFORE be it enacted as follows:
1. DEFINITIONS - Automobile Service Stations
For the purpose of this By-law am "Automobile
Service Station" shall mean a building or place
where gasoline, oil, grease, antifreeze, tire:
accessories, electric light bulbs, sparkplugs
and batteries for motor vehicles are stored
or kept for sale, or where motor vehicles may
be oiled, greased or washed, or have their
ignition adjusted, tires inflated or batteries
charged, or where only minor or running repairs
essential to the actual operation of motor
vehicles are executed or performed.
A. The number of automobile stations which may be
operated or sed in the Town of Pickering is
limited to U being those listed in Appendix "A"
and shown on Schedule 1 attached hereto.
2. DEFINITIONS - Public Garages
For the purpose of this By-law, "Public Garage"
shall mean a parking station or a parking lot
or a.building or place where motor vehicles
are hired or kept or used for hire and/or where
such vehicles are stored or kept for sale; or
building or place 'used as a motor vehicles
repair shop.
A. The number of Public garages which may be operated
or used in the Town of Pickering is limited to 21
being those listed in Appendix B and shown on
Schedule 1 attached hereto.
B. That the said Automobile Service Stations and Public
Garages as listed in Appendix "A" and shown on
Schedule 1 i.2 attached hereto are regulated by
By-law Number
3. , That By-laws 4275/72 and 4276/72 are hereby repealed.
