BY-LAW NUMBER 831/78
Being a by-law to adopt the District Plan
for the District Planning Area of the
Town of Pickering
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of clause (d) of subsection
(1) of section 61 of The Regional Municipality of Durham Act,
1973, S.O. 1973, c. 78 the council of an area municipality is
required to prepare a plan for the district planning area and
forward it to the Regional Council for approval;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The plan for the District Planning Area of the
Town of Pickering dated May, 1978, and amended
June 5, 1978, is hereby adopted.
2. The Clerk is hereby directed to forward the said
plan to the Council of the Regional Municipality
of Durham for its approval.
3. The Official Plan of the Township of Pickering
Planning Area, approved by the Minister of
Municipal Affairs on February 15, 1963,as
amended, insofar as it applies to the District
Planning Area of the Town of Pickering is
hereby repealed, effective upon the date on
which the Minister approves the Plan adopted
in section 1 of this By-law, as such Plan may
be amended by the Regional Council, pursuant
to the provisions of subsection 2 of secti cz
61 of the Regional Municipality of Durham Act,
1973, S.O. 1973, c. 78.
4. The Pickering District Plan adopted by the Town of
Pickering on February 15, 1975 is hereby repealed.
BY-LAW read a first, second and third time and finally PASSED
this 5th day of June , 1978.
