BY-LAW NO. 1004/79
Being a By-law to authorize the execution
of an Offer to Lease from J.D.S. Invest-
ments Limited certain premises in the
Pickering Corporate Centre, 1305 Sheridan
Mall Parkway, for municipal purposes.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of subsection 1 of
section 336 of The Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1970, chapter
284, the council of a municipal corporation may pass
by-laws, inter alia, for acquiring interests in land
for the purposes of the corporation; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of section 5 of the
said Act, the power to acquire interests in land includes
the power to acquire by purchase or otherwise; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed expedient to acquire, for municipal
purposes, by lease, the right to use certain premises in
the Pickering Corporate Centre, 1305 Sheridan Mall Parkway,
in the Town of Pickering;
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the Town
of Pickering HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized to
execute an Offer to Lease between the Corpor-
ation of the Town of Pickering and J.D.S.
Investments Limited respecting the acquisi-
tion by the Corporation of a leasehold
interest in certain premises located in
the Pickering Corporate Centre, 1305
Sheridan Mall Parkway, Pickering.
2. If the approval of the Ontario Municipal Board
is required, this by-law shall not take effect
until it is so obtained.
BY-LAW read a first, second and third time and finally
passed this 11th day of June 1979.
