BY-LAW NO. 1466/82
Being a By-Law to amend By-Law 1416/82,
providing for the regulation and licens-
ing of places of amusement
WHEREAS, on January 18th, 1982, the Council of the Corporation of the
Town of Pickering enacted By-Law 1416/82, to provide for the regulation
and licensing of places of amusement; and
WHEREAS, on March 1st, 1982, the Council enacted By-Law 1453/82 amending
By-Law 1416/82 in certain respects; and
WHEREAS, on March 15th, 1982, the Council enacted By-Law 1461/82, amend-
ing By-Law 1416/82 in certain respects; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed expedient to amend further that By-Law in certain
respects;
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering
HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1 of By-Law 1416/82 is hereby revoked and the following
substituted therefor:
In this By-Law, the term "place of amusement" shall mean
any building, room or area in which are offered facilities
for the play of:
(a) three or more games of chance;
(b) three or more games of mixed chance and skill; or
(c) a combination of three or more games of chance and
games of mixed chance and skill,
for the amusement of the public, which games are not contrary
to the Criminal Code of Canada, but does not include premises
in which the only amusement facilities offered are pool
tables, billiard tables or bowling alleys.
BY-LAW read a first, second and third time and finally passed this
5th day of April , 1982.
