Pursuant to Part VI.1 of the Municipal Act, 2001

Direction to the Director, Economic Development & Strategic Projects and the
Director, City Development & CBO, regarding the Northeast Pickering Secondary
Plan
In accordance with Section 284.3 (Directions to municipal employees), of Part VI.1 of
the Municipal Act, 2001 (the “Act”), the Mayor hereby directs the Director, Economic
Development & Strategic Projects and the Director, City Development & CBO to:
1. Remove the Sportsplex symbol, the Recreation Complex symbol, and the
Community Centre symbol, on Schedule I to the Pickering Official Plan and
Schedule 11B of the Northeast Pickering Secondary Plan Land Use Schedule;
2. Revise the legend on Schedule 11B of the Northeast Pickering Secondary Plan
Land Use Schedule to include reference to the above noted community facilities
so that it reads , “Lands yet to be identified for future sportsplex, recreation
centre, community centre, fire stations, operations facilities, police stations,
ambulance stations, Regional work facilities, etc.”
3. Plan the future location of the Sportsplex, Recreation Complex, and Community
Centre, within the Northeast Pickering Secondary Plan, as part of the future
Neighbourhood Planning process; and,
4. That the draft By-law, with such land use symbols removed from Schedule I and
Schedule 11B, be presented at the Special Council Meeting to be held on May
20, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
This Direction takes effect on May 11, 2026 and remains in effect unless and until it is
revoked in writing by the Mayor.
