HomeMy WebLinkAboutMDecision 06-2026Mayoral Decision #06-2026 Pursuant to Part VI.1 of the Municipal Act, 2001 March 5, 2026 Direction to City staff, through the Chief Administrative Officer, and Mayoral Decision regarding City Initiated Official Plan Amendment 54, Northeast Pickering Secondary Plan, Implementation Framework for the Northeast Pickering Community, File: OPA 25-003/P In accordance with Sections 284.3 (Directions to municipal employees) and 284.10 (Powers re meetings) of Part VI.1 of the Municipal Act, 2001 (the “Act”), the Mayor hereby directs as follows: 1. That, given the discussions and dialogue that ensued at the Planning and Development Committee Meeting held on Monday, March 2, 2026, staff are hereby directed, through the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), to bring forward a new, updated staff report regarding Official Plan Amendment, City Initiated: Northeast Pickering Secondary Plan, Recommended Amendment 54 to the Pickering Official Plan, Implementation Framework for the Northeast Pickering Community, File: OPA 25-003/P, as presented at the March 2, 2026 Planning and Development Committee Meeting; 2. That staff be directed to include any new information, based on their understanding of the numerous issues raised during the discussions and dialogue at the Planning and Development Committee Meeting, that may be deemed appropriate and necessary to aid in Council’s decision-making with respect to the new updated report; and, 3.That the City Clerk be directed to make a notation in the March 23, 2026 Council Meeting agenda advising the public that the new report regarding the Northeast Pickering Secondary Plan will be considered at a Special Meeting of Council on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 6:00 pm, and that the Clerk be given the authority to send out the formal notice to call the Special Meeting. This decision takes effect on March 5, 2026 and remains in effect unless and until it is revoked in writing by the Mayor. Original Signed By _______________________________ Kevin Ashe Mayor
