O. Grignon called the meeting to order and read the Land Acknowledgement.
O. Grignon acknowledged Black History Month and read the African Ancestral Acknowledgement.
2. Review and Approval of Agenda
Moved by K. Hanson Seconded by P. Martin That the February 13, 2025 Meeting agenda of the Pickering Anti-Black Racism Taskforce be approved.

5.1 Erica Edwards, Community Program
Coordinator / Program Supervisor, Durham Family & Cultural Centre Re: Black Joy Holiday Market Update

Program Supervisor, Durham Family & Cultural Centre sent her regrets and did not attend the meeting.
6. Delegations
There were no delegations.
7. General Business 7.1 City Updates: Equity, Diversity and Inclusion O. Grignon informed the Taskforce that D. Machado-Yew Woon would be assuming the role of Staff Liaison at this time in place of J.
San Antonio. D. Machado-Yew Woon provided an update regarding the RFP process for the Consultation and Co-Design Initiative, indicating that the
RFP is presently expected to be posted for bid and tender in in the first week of March. She indicated that discussions are ongoing regarding a deadline for submissions and other project updates.
D. Machado-Yew Woon highlighted the City’s partnership with the Taskforce and the Region of Durham on the 2025 Durham Region Black History Month Celebration Event and the
Pickering Public Library for the Black Art Showcase.

7.2 Executive Updates Budget
S. Mascoll indicated that she is working with D. Machado-Yew Woon to ensure that Taskforce financial records are cohesively shared between her and the City.
7.3 Subcommittee Updates
Consultation and Co-Design Subcommittee K. Hanson indicated that there were no updates to share and that they are awaiting some
updates from the City.
Community Engagement: Black History Month
A. Fraser indicated there were no updates.
Marketing and Promotions Subcommittee
There was no update provided.
7.5 Executive Committee Positions
O. Grignon informed the Taskforce that the term for Chair positions on the Taskforce are coming to an end and indicated that the
nomination and appointment process will be scheduled to take place at the Taskforce meeting in March. She encouraged Members to consider their interest in the Executive positions.

9. Other Business
9.1 2025 PABRT Year End Report & Work Plan
D. Machado-Yew Woon reminded the Taskforce
that Year End Reports and Work Plans for City
Committees and Taskforce’s are due to go before Council by the May 26, 2025 Council Meeting.
