Pursuant to Part VI.1 of the Municipal Act, 2001

Direction to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and Director, Finance &
Treasurer, pertaining to an engagement strategy for the 2024 City of Pickering
Budget
In accordance with subsection 284.3 and 284.16 of the Municipal Act, 2001 (the “Act”),
the Mayor hereby directs the CAO and the Director, Finance & Treasurer to:
1. Develop an engagement strategy pertaining to the 2024 City of Pickering Budget
and that such strategy be provided to the Mayor for approval;
2. Meet with the Ward Councillors to obtain feedback on the City of Pickering
Capital Budget; and,
3. That the feedback from the public and Members of Council, be compiled and
forwarded to the Mayor, no later than January 15, 2024, for his review and
consideration prior to the Budget being provided to Council, the public and the
City Clerk, in accordance with Mayoral Direction #01-2023.
This Direction takes effect on October 27, 2023 and remains in effect unless and until it
is revoked in writing by the Mayor.
