BY-LAW NUMBER 3585/90
Being a by-law to amend By-law Number
2359/87 to provide for the regulating
of parking, standing and stopping on
highways or parts of highways under
the jurisdiction of the Corporation of
the Town of Pickering and on private
and municipal property.
Whereas the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Picketing
enacted By-law Number 2359/87 on January 19, 1987 to provide for the
regulating of parking, standing and stopping on highways or parts of
highways under the jurisdiction of the Corporation of the Town of
Pickering and on private and municipal property; and
Whereas it is deemed expedient to amend the said by-law to provide
for a more definitive definition of a bus stop;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. Section 1 (2)(c) of By-law Number 2359/87 is hereby deleted and
the following is substituted therefore:
"bus stop" means any one of the following categories:
(i) Near Side and Far Side Bus Stops shall occupy a space
of 18 metres from the bus stop sign to a point 18
metres to the right of the sign when viewed from the
street;
(ii) Mid Block Bus Stop shall occupy a space of 18 metres
between two bus stop signs;
By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed this
