Being a by-law to fix the salaries of the
Commissioners of the Pickering Hydro-Electric
Commission for the period con~nencing December 1,
1988 and expiring on November 30, 1989
WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of section 43(1) of the Public
Utilities Act, R.S.O. 1980, c. 423, the salary of such commissioners
shall from time to time be fixed by the Council of the Corporation of the
Town of Pickering;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering
HEREBY ENACTS as follows:
1. The salaries of the members of the Pickering Hydro-Electric
Commission for the period expiring with the 30th day of November,
1988 are hereby fixed in the following amounts:
a) Chairman .............................. $2,835 per annum
b) Commissioner .......................... $2,625 per annum
2. Notwithstanding the provisions of section l, each member of the
said Commission shall be paid a further sum of $50.00 per day for
each day in which such member attends a special meeting approved by
the Commission.
3. For the purposes of section 2, the term "special meeting" shall
mean,
a) conventions and seminars,
b) any meeting of a designated committee or subcommittee of
the Commission, and
c) any meeting of the Commission occurring outside the Town
of Pickering other than a regularly scheduled meeting of
the Commission.
BY-LAW READ a first, second and third time and finally PASSED this 20th
day of February, 1989.

The enclosed certified true copy of Commission Resolution #948/89 requests
approval for an adjustment in the Commission's remuneration for the period of
December 1, 1988 to November 30, ,1989.
The increase amounts to 5% in the salary and no adjustment in the special meeting
expense. Would you please place this matter on Council's Agenda at the earliest

BE IT RESOLVED THAT:

4. This resolution be submitted to the Council of the Town of
Pickering for approval.

THAT Resolution 812/87 be hereby superseded.
