BY-LAW NUMBER 4004/92
Being a by-law to adopt Amendment No. 76 to the District Plan for the Town of Pickering
WHEREAS pursuant to the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.p. 13, subsections 17(6) and 21(1), the
Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickeri.ng may by by-law adopt amendments to the
District Plan for the Town of Pickering, being an official plan, and submit them to the Minister of
Municipal Affairs for approval;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
l. Amendment No. 76 to the District Plan for the Town of Pickering, attached hereto as
Exhibit "A" and including the Explanatory Text, is hereby adopted.
2. The Clerk of the Town of Pickering is hereby authorized and directed to submit
Amendment No. 76 to the District Plan for the Town of Pickering to the Ministry of
Municipal Affairs for approval.
3. This By-law shall come into force and take effect on the day of the final passing hereof.
By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 1st day of June ,1992.

AMENDMENT NO. 76
TO THE
TOWN OF PICKERING DISTRICT PLAN
(TOWN CENTRE COMMUNITY PLAN)
AMENDMENT NO. 76 TO THE TOWN OF PICKERING DISTRICT PLAN
(TOWN CENTRE COMMUNITY PLAN)
PURPOSE: The purpose of this amendment is to permit an increase in the
allo. wable retail and personal service floor area without requiring a
major food store to be established on the property.
LOCATION: The subject lands are located on the south side of Kingston Road at
Bainbridge Drive. The lands affected by this amendment are
approximately 3.4 hectare in size.
The lands are generally described as Part of Lot 18, Concession 1,
Town of Pickenng.
BASIS: The amendment has been determined to be appropriate as it
permits the development of additional retail and personal service
uses to serve the adjacent residential area, in keeping with the
neighbourhood scale and function of this Local Central Area.
ACTUAL
AMENDMENT: The Town of Pickering District Plan (Town Centre Community
Plan) is hereby amendedas follows:
1. In subsection 3.A.(d)(ii), delete the phrase "if the major food
store is developed as part of this Local Central Area" and the
next two sentences so that the subsection ends with phrase
"may comprise a total development of app.roximately 7,000
square metres of gross retail andpersonal serwce floor space."
IMPLEMENTATION: The provisions set forth in the Town of Picketing District Plan, as "-'
amended, regarding the implementation of the Plan shall apply in
regard to this Amendment.
INTERPRETATION: The provisions set forth in the Town of Pickering District Plan, as
amended, regarding the interpretation of the Plan shall apply in
regard to this Amendment.
