Being a by-law to appoint a Parking
Control Officer to enforce By-law
2359/87 (Parking)
Whereas pursuant to the provisions of section 207.45 of the
Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, chapter M.45 and section 15Il) of the
Police Services Act, R.S.O. 1990, chapter P.15, the council of any
municipality or trustees of any police village may appoint one or
more municipal law enforcement officers who shall be peace officers
for the purpose of enforcing the by-laws of the municipality or
police village;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The following person is hereby appointed as a Municipal Law
Enforcement Officer in and for the Town of Pickering in order to
ascertain whether the provisions of By-law 2359/87 are obeyed
and to enforce or carry into effect the said by-law:
Richard Gallant
2. The authority granted in section 1 hereto is specifically
limited to that set out in section l, and shall not be deemed,
at any time, to exceed the authority set out in section 1.
3. This appointment shall expire upon that person set out in
section 1 ceasing to be an employee of the Town of Picketing.
By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed this
6th day of April, 1992.
