BY-LAW NO. 4268/93
Being a by-law to authorize the acquisition of Part Lot
13, Plan 819, Pickering (Part 2, Plan RD-147) for road
widening purposes [Treharne ; Stroud' s Lane].
WHEREAS John Hubert Lloyd Treharne and Jean Hamilton Trehame are the registered owners of Lot
13, Plan 819, Pickering, and are prepared to convey that part thereof designated as Pan 2, Plan RD-147,
to The Corporation of the Town of Pickering for future road purposes; and
WHEREAS, jurisdiction over Stroud's Lane between Fairport Road and Spruce Hill Road in the Town
of Pickering not having been expressly conferred upon another council or road authority, the Council of
The Corporation of the Town of Picketing has, pursuant to section 263 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O.
1990, chapter M.45, jurisdiction thereover; and
WHEREAS the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Picketing wishes ultimately to widen
Stroud's Lane between Fairpon Road and Spruce Hill Road so that it will have a mad allowance width
of 20 metres (66 feet), and for this purpose wishes acquire certain lands along the northerly side thereof;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 191 of the Municipal Act, the Council of The Corporation of the Town
of Picketing may pass by-laws for acquiring land for the purposes of the Corporation;
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Picker'mg HEREBY ENACTS AS
FOLLOWS:
1. The Corporation of the Town of Pickering shall acquire that part of Lot 13, Plan 819, Pickering,
designated as Part 2, Plan RD-147, from John Hubert Lloyd Treharne and Jean Hamilton
Trehame for the purchase price of $1,250, plus up to $250 registration fees and taxes.
2. The Mayor, the Clerk and the Town Solicitor are hereby authorized to execute any
documentation approved by the Town Solicitor necessary to effect the acquisition referred to in
section 1, above.
