BY-LAW NO. 417 2/9 3
Being a by-law to provide for the addition of interest to
tax arrears,
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, chapter M.45, section
419(2), the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Picketing may by by-law require that the Town
Treasurer add to the anaount of all taxes due and unpaid interest at such rate not exceeding 15 per cent
per annum as Council determines, from the 31st day of December of the year in which the taxes were
levied until the taxes are paid;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Pickering HEREBY ENACTS AS
FOLLOWS:
1. The Town Treasurer shall add to the amount of all taxes due and unpaid interest at the rate of
9.5 per cent per annum from December 31, 1992, until the taxes are paid.
2. Sections 2210.4.1, 2210.4.2 and 2210.4.3 of the Town of Picker'mg Municipal Code are
revoked and section 1 of this By-law (re-numbered section 2210.4.1) is substituted for them.
3. This By-law shall come into force upon the date of passage hereof.
BY-LAW read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 15th day of February, 1993.
