BY-LAW NO. 5460/99
Being a by-law to authorize the sale of surplus municipal
lands being the former Library, former Firehall and
former Seniors Centre in the Town of Claremont,
Pickering, in accordance with By-Law 4592/95.
WHEREAS, The Town of Picketing on April 3, 1995 passed By-Law 4592/95 to establish procedures
to regulate the sale of Municipal Real Property pursuant to section 193(2) of the Municipal Act, R.S.O.
1990 c.M.45, as amended;
AND WHEREAS by Resolution No. 126/98, the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Pickering
declared the lands being the former Firehall, former Library and former Seniors Centre in the Town of
Claremont, Pickering surplus to the needs of the Municipality;
AND WHEREAS The Corporation of the Town of Pickering desires to sell the surplus lands;
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Picketing HEREBY ENACTS AS
FOLLOWS:
Those lands lying and being in the Town of Picketing, in the Regional Municipality of Durham
and legally described as that Part of Lots 16 and 17, Plan 43, designated as Part 6 on 40R-18850
(former Firehall), shall be sold to the 563259 Ontario Limited c/o Claremont Collector Cars for
the sum of $51,151.00 in accordance with By-Law 4592/95;

Those lands lying and being in the Town of Picketing, in the Regional Municipality of Durham
and legally described as: Firstly: Part of Lot 28, Plan 12; Secondly: Part of Lot 28, Plan 12,
designated as Part 2, 40R-7829; and Thirdly: Part of Lot 28, Plan 12, Picketing, designated as
Part 2, Plan 40R-7913, (former Library) shall be sold to Karsten Smith, in trust, for the sum of
$51,500.00; and
Those lands lying and being in the Town of Picketing, in the Regional Municipality of Durham
and legally described as: Firstly: Part of Lot 19, Concession 8, designated as Part 1, Plan 40R-
2060, secondly, Part of Lot 2, Plan 40M-1538, Picketing, designated as Parts 3 and 6 on Plan
40R- 13714 shall be sold to Karsten Smith in trust for the sum of $101,000.00.
BY-LAW read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 1 st day of March, 1999.
