BY-LAW NUMBER 4852/96
Being a by-law to appoint By-law Enforcement
Officers for certain purposes (Parking Regulation -
Picketing Town Centre)
Whereas pursuant to the provision of section 15(1) of the Police Services Act., R.S.O. 1990,
chapter PI5, as amended, the council of any municipality or trustees of any police village may
appoint one or more municipal law enforcement officers who shall be peace officers for the
purpose of enforcing the by-laws of the municipality or police village;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The following persons are hereby appointed as municipal law enforcement officers in
and for the Town of Picketing and are hereby authorized to enter at all reasonable
times upon lands municipally known as Pickering Town Centre, 1355 Kingston Road,
in order to ascertain whether the provisions of By-law 2359/87 are obeyed and to
enforce or carry into effect the said By-law:

Stewart Eckford, Security Officer
2. The authority granted in section 1 hereto is specifically limited to that set out in section
1, and shall not be deemed, at any time, to exceed the authority set out in section 1.
3. These appointments shall expire upon the persons appointed in section 1 hereof
ceasing to be employees of the Picketing Town Centre.
4. By-law 4531/94 is hereby amended by deleting Mark Fullerton and Chris Glover.
By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 7 day of October,
1996.
