T. Ryce, Supervisor, Cultural Services welcomed
those present.

Introduction of Cultural Advisory Committee
Members in Attendance
T. Ryce introduced J. St. Amant, Coordinator,
Cultural Services and K. Roberts, Coordinator,
Community Partnerships.
3.
Review of Draft Manual (presentation attached)
T. Ryce and K. Ferguson reviewed the Draft Manual
for those present.
Draft copies of the Community Festival and Events
manual were distributed following the presentation
to all in attendance. Participants were notified that
comments would be received until March 16, 2017
after which staff would compile comments, and
finalize the manual.

Questions and Answers
Q. Fee's Review/Comparison to other
municipalities?
A. Fees are very low in comparison to other
municipalities, and the City is reviewing, and will be
making recommendations to change.
• Public will have opportunity to Comment on
these changes
Q. What is considered an Event? Meetings?
A. Meetings are not events.
• Refer to Events Manual - to assist in
determining what is an event as defined by our
Event Manual
• Generally, facility bookings are not considered
events, as facility bookings have their own
rules and regulations, procedures and policies
that must be followed
Q. When are Community Grant Applications due?

event.
Q. Is there a set budget for Community Grant
Applications?
A. Yes.
Q. What tools will the City Provide for promotions of
event?
A. T. Ryce reviewed Partnership events Marketing
tools VS Community Events, Family Calendar,
Website/Event Calendar, Social Media, Facility
Poster, Partnership includes LED Mobile Signs,
Road Signs, additional opportunities.
Q. When is the information required for Marketing
tools
A. Varies - Initial Main information required at time
of Event Application, but for social media posts two
weeks prior.

T. Ryce advised that the City will be accepting
comments till March 16, 2018.
