A meeting of Pickering Township Council was held on FRIDAY, the
TWENTY-FIFTH day of MARCH, 1966, at EIGHT o'clock p. m.
PRESENT: C. W. Laycox, in the Chair

Discussion of the situation in Rougedale Acres
Holdings discontinued construction due to stop
placed on buildings due to by-law infractions.

As a result the
MOTION:
MOVED by Mr. Campbell, seconded by Mr. Williams,
THAT WHEREAS Rockport Holdings have various infringements in the
Rougedale Acres subdivision;
AND WHEREAS ~he Committee of Adjustment has granted approvals on
Lots 9, 10, 14, 37, 39, 21, 22, 23, 24, 26, 27, 30, 31 and 33;
AND WHEREAS the Township has placed "Stop Work" orders on these
jobs;
AND WHEREAS a l4-day period should elapse between the Committee of
Adjustment meeting and the continuance of work;
The Township hereby agrees to lift "Stop Work" orders on these
lots providing
(1) An agreement signed by Rockport Holdings is presented to the
Township Solicitor that is acceptable to the Township Solicitor,
and
(2) that holds the Township of Pickering harmless and free from
blame by virtue of litting the "Stop work" orders Should
there be a reversal by the Ontario Municipal Board on on the
Committee of Adjustment decision;
(3) that this agreement should contain any clauses or statements to
hold the Township of Pickering harmless and that this agreement
should only be drawn up providing it is permissible under
municipal administration. CARRIED
On MOTION the meeting adjourned.
