A meeting of Pickering Township Council was held on THURSDAY,
the TWENTY-FOURTH day of FEBRUARY, 1966, at 9:50 o'clock p. m.
PRESENT: Reeve C. W. Laycox

Councillcr Ronald Chatten
Councillor John Williams
Councillor Donald Beer

A special Council meeting was called to pass a by-law authorizing
the Reeve and Clerk to execute an agreement re sale of land for
industrial purposes.
BY-LAW NUMBER 3118
Mr. Wi lliams, seconded by ~1r. Chatten, moves for leave to intro-
duce a By-Law of the Township of Pickering to authorize the Reeve
and Clerk to sign an Agreement between the Township of Pickering
and Rootes Motors (Canada) Limited, and that same now be read a
first time.
Mr. Williams, seconded by Mrs. McPherson, moves that By-Law Number
3118 to au~horize the Reeve and Clerk to sign an Agreement between
the Township of Pickering and Rootes Motors (Canada) Limited, be'
nbw'read'a second time. and that Council go into Committee of the
Whole thereon.
The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read.
Mr. Williams, seconded by Mr. Beer, moves that the report of the
Committee of the Whole on By-Law No. 3118 be adopted, and that the
said By-Law be now read a Third time and PASSED; that the Reeve
and Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed
thereto. CARRIED
Mr. La~cox touched briefly on the subject of further land purchases
for in ustrial development, and also land for park and recreational
purposes. However, it was recommended that this be discussed at our
next Finance Committee meeting.
INSTRUCTIONS
Clerk to supply maps to assist in locating suitable land for
park and recreation area re Centennial project.
MOVED by Mr. Williams, seconded by Mr. Chatten, that meeting
adjourn at 10:00 o'clock p. m. CARRIED
