A meeting of Council was held on MONDAY, the TWELFTH day of JUNE,
1961, at EIGHT o1.clock in the evening.

R. W. lI:eron feels that charging for dumping garbage in the
TownshIþ Dump will encourage the dumping of garbage on roads.
No Action.
Depart!ent of Lands and Forests have app roved the Township .

Ontar.io'County Mutual Aid Fire Services Association will put
on a fire demonstration at Port Perry, Sunday, June 18th, at
1:30 p. m. Counc~l members invited.
Solicit~r for W, O. Bennett retu~s six keys for padlock on
gate aeroSS the right-or-way, and asks Council to accept until
Council take the action they propose. OUr solicitor took letter
and will reply.
Mr. John Keoø:h, who þropose8 to open the first Puppet Theatre
in Canada, asks Council to permit him to operate on Sundays
during the summer. C,?uncil will consider a vote in December on
"pa~ially open Sunday~"
Pickering H~h School Board will permit Township to use their
grounds at cker1ng~ ihe1r wash rooms .and auditorium, in
case of rain on July 1st, tor $15.00. Clerk arrana:e for use
of Bi~ School g~nasium on Sunday if it rains.
OUr So¡'icitors recommend that "it would not be wise" to pro-
seeute Frank Ogden re Heliport under OUr "Noise By-Law".
K~. ~ie Porter asks for a $50.00 grant to assist in the
upkeep of Bethel Cemetery for 1961.

On MOTION o~ Mr. Deakin seconded by Mr. Laycox, Mr. John Keogh was
heard re SWlday Theatre. Mr. Keogh asked Council to pass a By-Law
to permit him to operate a Puppet Theatre at Kinsale on Sundays
dur,lng the summer. 'It was pointed out to Mr. Keogh that a Township
vote would be required on Sunday Theatres before such a by-law
could be passed.

Mr. Jefferson stated'that the applicQtion for Municipal water in
East Rouge was forwarded to the Ontario Water Resources Commission
last Friday.
Mr. Chapman discussed general road problems with Council.
RESOLUTION NUMBER 201/61
MOVED by Mr. Deakin seconded by Mr. Boyes that this Council make
application to the Ontario Municipal Board for approval of a consent
for John E. Regan to convey to Mary Gladys Tobin Phelan the easterly
18 feet of Lots 214 and 293 and the westerly 18 feet of Lots 212
and 295 Plan 299;, Frenchman's Bay to add to the holdings of
Mary G. T. Phelan, who now ownS Lots 213 and 294 and on the cop-
dition that no cottage or other dwelling be erected on the lands
being conveyed; recommended by the Pickering Township Planning
Board June 2, 1961. CARßlED
IT WAS AGREED that the Road Department should not do any work on
parks unless approved by Council.
IT WAS AGREED that a committee of Council meet the Union Stewards
at the Municipal Building on Tuesday, June 20th at 4 p. m. to
discuss a grievance.
IT WAS AGREED that there be no meeting of Council on June 21st, but
that there be a committee meeting Thursday, June 15th.
