Perry asks for dust layer on Concession 2, Lots 19, 20. This was ca1ciumed May 19th. 2. Copy o~ correspondence between O. W. R. C. and R. W. Heron, wherein Mr. Heron who is building a pond on Lot 10, Concession 9, must remove solids from the stream, as it adversely affects an owner downstream. 3. Mr. Frank O~den claims Township Zoning By-Law not effective on Second Reading and noise minor. He has a licence from Department of Transport so shall continue to operate heliport. 4. Department of Education have accepted Township By-Law for Kinsale School Section and will hold up until Whitby By-Law approved. 5. Township of WhitbY ask Council to approve a new By-Law releasing Whitby portion of School Section Union 2 as other By-Law was not satisfactory to Department of Education. See Resolution No. 170/61. 6. Canadian National Railways ask for a letter authorizing Clerkts signature on agreement to permit Township to use roa¡ under C. N. R. Bridge at Rosebank. See Resolution Nq. 163 61. 7. Ontar.lo County Mutual Aid Fire meeting - Pickering Village Fire Hall, May 26th, 8:30 p. m. 8. Ajax-PickerilllC General Hospital Woment,s Auxiliary ask for permission to hold a t~ day in Pickering Township June 3, 1961. See Resolution No. 168/61. 9. Monteith. RESOLUTION NUMBER 154/61 MOVED by Mr. Mowbray" seconded by Mr. Spang" that this Council make application to the Ontario Munici~al Board for approval of endor- sation of Planning Board consent (on deeds dated April 28, 1961) for B. M. Harpell to convey to B. Bleasdale a parcel with 216 feet frontage by 403 feet depth (known as Parcel No.2), part of Lot 12" Concession 5, with stipulation on deed any dwelling erected thereon shall have a minimum of 1500 square feet floor' area, as approved by the Township of Pickering Planning Board May 6, 1960. CARRIED - 3 - ßESOLUTION NUMBER 160/61 MOVED by Mr. Deakin, seconded by Mr. Mowbray, that this Council make application to The Ontario Municipal Board for approval of consent for W. M. Green to separate an approximate l~ acre parcell part of Lot II, Con. 5, Hamlet of Greenwood, into a 9.9 acre parcel, and a parcel with dimensions 751. X 2111. containing existing house, subject to the condition that any dwelling erected have a minimum floor area of 1500 square feet; and on the under- standing that no further subdivision of the larger parcel be considered until a policy in regard to services in that area is established; as recommended by the Pickering Township Planning Board. Polak a parcel 216 feet by 403 feet, known as Parcel NO.4, part of Lot 12, Concession 51 with stipulation on deed that any dwelling erected thereon ha~e a minim- um of 1500 square feet floor area, as approved by the Township of Pickering Planning Board May 6, 1960. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 162/61. MOVED by Mr. Deakin, seconded by Mr. Mowbray, that the Weed Inspector be instructed to ðndeavour to notify all property owners at least 7 days prior to cutting weeds on their property; this to be done at the time of inspection of the property. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 163/61 MOVED by Mr. Laycox, seconded by Mr. Deakin, that L. T. Johnston, Clerk of the Township of Pickering, be and he is hereby authorized to sign an agreement with the Canadian National Railways for the Township to use a right-of-way under the Canadian National Railways bridge at Mileage 316.13, Oshawal Subdivision Licence B 31070. , CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 164/61 , MOVED by Mr. Laycox, seconded by Mr. Deakin, that membership fee of ¡45.00 for the year 1961 ~e paid to the Association of Ontario Mayors and Reeves. ~ CARRIED ßESOLUTION NUMB~R 165/61 KOVlD by Mr. James, seconded by Mr. Spang, that the Road Superin- tendent be authorized to purchase approximately 40 tons calcium I' chloride (flake} from Canadian Industries for a price of $46.74 per ton, subject to the approval of ~e Department of Highways of Ontario. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 167/61 . MOVED by Mr. James, seconded by\ Mr. Laycox, that the Road Super- intendent be authorized to purc~se approximately 90,000 gals. I liquid chloride at .125¢ per gat., purchase to be made between Miller Paving Limited and Pollard Bros., sUbject to the approval of the Department, of Highways or Ontario. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 168/61 MOVED by Mr. Boyes, seconded by Mr. Deakin, that Ajax Pickering General Hospital Women's Auxiliary be allowed to hold Tag Day June 3rd, 1961. CARRIED - 4 - RESOLUTION NUMBER 169/61 ~OVED by Mr. Deakin, seconded by Mr. Boyes, that the Reeve be authorized to sign an agreement with Kiddielands Limited for them to operate 8 or 9 midway concessions at the l50th Township Anni~- ersary to be held June 30th to July 3rd, and that the money derived from such concessions be divided - Township l~, Operator, 85%, with operator paying 50¢ per foot frontage on concession to the Township. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 170/61 MOVED by Mr. Mowbray, seconded by Mr. Spang that By-Law Number 1820 of the Township of Whitby which enlarges the Township School Area Number One of the Township of Whitby be approved by this Council, and that Resolution Number 103ï6l of the Township of Pickering which approves By-Law Number 1814 of the Township of Whitby be rescinded. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 171/61 MOVED by Mr. Mowbray, seconded by Mr. James, that the A.D. Y. Camp located on 37 aCres in Lot l7~ Concession 2 of the Township be per.mitted to erect ten cabins of about 560 square feet each, pro- viding the owners will sign an agreement that such cottages will not be lived in during period from September 14th to June 15th, and that they be erected on posts so that they may be removed should the Conservation Authorities declare the lands on which they are erected are flood lands; and that the Reeve and Clerk be authorized to sign such agreement. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 172/61 MOVED by Mr. Laycox, seconded by Mr. Boyes, that the Weed Inspector be directed to carry out the provisions of section thirteen of the Weed Control Act, 1960. CARRIED RESOLUTION NUMBER 175/61 MOVED by Mr. Boyes, seconded by Mr. Spang, that Pickering Township Counci¡ authorize the Historical Society to go ahead with the book, "The Pickering Story", the cost not to exceed $4500.00. CARRIED Reeve Scott advised Council he had met Messrs. Campbell and Bedell about the temporary closing of Church Street. They refused to open Station Road at Highway 40l because they thought it dang- erous, and that Church Street may be closed until December 31, 1961; that Pickering Village had agreed that Area 1 accept all fire calls south of Highway 401 west of Ajax, that Highway 2 would be widened to 120 feet, and there would be room for a side- walk on either side of the road across ditch and lights will be installed by the Department of Highways of Ontario for pedestrian crossing when necessary, in opinion of D. H. O. " was discussed and it was pointed out that sales tax on the cost of the book. See 61. BY"LAW NUMBER 2615 Mr. James" seconded by Mr. Spang moves for leave to introduce a By-Law of the Township of Pickering to designate through Highways in the Township of Pickering and to amend part or By-Law Number 2428 and that same now be read a first time. " - 5 .- " By-Law Number 2615 (Continued) Mr. James, seconded by Mr. Mowbray moves that By-~aw Number 2615 to designate through Highways in the Township of Pickering and to amend part of By-Law Number 2428, be now read a seðond time, and that Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon. The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read. Mr. James, seconded by Mr. Boyes, moves that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-Law No. 2615 be adopted and that the said By-Law be now read a Third time and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. CARßIED BY-LAW NUMBER 2616 Mr. Laycox, seconded ~ Mr. Deakin, moves for leave to introduce a By-Law of the Township of Pickering to provide for a two year term for members of the Township Council! and that same now be read a first time. Mr. Laycox, seconded by Mr. Boyes, moves that By-Law Number 2616 to provide for a two year term for members of the Township Council, be now read a second time, and that Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon. The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read. Mr. Laycox, seconded by Mr. James, moves that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-Law No. 2616 be adopted and that the said By-Law be now read a Third time and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto.
