SEPTEMBER 9th 1949.
Mr. W. J. MOORE, Member of the MUNICIPAL BOARD called the meeting
of about twenty ratepayers to order at l0 A.M., to hear objections
to our Zoning By-law No. 1787.
Mr. Melville Grant, Solicitor for the Township, stated why it was
necessary for the By-law to be passed, which chiefly raised the
size of dwellings that may in future be built in Plckering Township
and the land required with each dwelling·
The following persons spoke against the By-law:-
1. H.A.NEWMAN, - wished an unregistered plan of his
in B.F.R.3, Lot 26, not to be subject to the By-law.
2. Mrs. I. S. GOLDSTICK - appeared for the Hungarian
Camp in Concession 2, Lot 17, and asked that her
client might build cabins for their guests.
3. EDWARD HANNAH stated he believed the size of
dwelling too large·
4. Dr. N. E. McEWEN - called for the Township to be
zened into different dwelling size area and stated
the size too large for certain areas.
5. STANLEY FAIRBAIRN - asked for an interpretation.
6. A.E. CALVERT - asked about accommodation for
tourists in lieu of cabins.
Mr. Grant stated he would talk over certain proposed changes with
Mr. Moore, and it seemed that Motels, in lieu of cabins, should
be defined and possibly summer camps be permitted to use cabins.
The meeting then closed.
