Pat O’Brien advised that Tom Melymuk, Division Head, Corporate Projects &
Policy, with the City of Pickering, represents the City at all Community Advisory
Council meetings and he provides Council with information which allows them
the opportunity to address issues. It was concluded that this Committee should no

Mayor Arthurs questioned the representation needed from Pickering and Ajax on
the Community Advisory Council. Pat O’Brien stated that it would be beneficial
to have representation from all Ratepayer Groups and the Durham Nuclear Health
Committee. Presently there are 15 members on the CAC including representation
from the City of Pickering, the Fairport Beach Ratepayers Association and the
Rouge Valley Ratepayers Association in Scarborough. The Toronto and Region
Conservation Authority is also represented as is the Town of Ajax, the Region of
Durham Public Works, and the Ajax Pickering Board of Trade. Several capable
individuals who expressed an interest in serving on the committee bring an
experiential background to committee discussions. A list of the CAC membership
is attached.
Pat O’Brien advised that quarterly reports will continue to be sent to City Council,
public information meetings and Open Houses will continue to be held and
newsletters will continue to be mailed.
Mayor Arthurs will advise all Committee Members of the decision to dissolve the
Pickering/Ontario Hydro Liaison Committee.
