Cook, Chairman r Mrs. M. Spang L+ Mr. R. Miller Mr. D. McLean ' r Mrs. D. Earle In the absence of the Secretary Mrs. Earle was appointed to take down the minutes of the meeting. 1. Minutes - MOVED by Mrs. Spang, seconded by Mr. McLean that the minutes Y minute of the meeting held on May 13th, 1969 be approved. CARRIED. L2. It was reported that the Pickering Township Horticultural Ccciety had requested a meeting with the Board members to discuss their offer to do some landscaping on the Museum r grounds and that such a meeting had been arranged by Mr. Marshall for 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 8th, 1969. MOVED by Mr. Miller, seconded by Mrs: Spang, that the Horticultural Society be asked to plan• flower beds on the west side and south side of the church; to plan a bed around the pump and to submit an overall plan for the grounds. CARRIED. L ,_ _ _ _ _ __ _ _ _ _ L , -2- L Mr. Miller had suggested that a small fence be erected around the pump and that possibly the Horticultural Society might care to include this in their plans. He also suggested placing one of the large machines, possibly the stump puller, in front of the Museum to attract attention and the Board agreed that Mr. Miller arrange r to do this. L 4. Mr. Miller reported receiving a call from the Metropolitan L, Conservation Authority asking if the Board would care to attend its meeting at 8 p.m. , Sunday, June 8th in Greenwood Park and display items to publicize the Museum. Mr. Cook announced he had asked Dr. W. McKay to attend and speak on behalf of the Museum and it was agreed that Mr. Miller and Mrs. Earle should decide on a few items to display and to go and supervise them. 5. Barn Raising - It has been decided to hold a barn raising Saturday, 9 on aYa June 28th, 1959. The barn to be raised will house the gas r engines. Mr. Miller & Mr. Parkin are to arrange the barn L raising crew and Mr. Miller had already contacted Mr. Morley Symes who has agreed to act as foreman. The event will start at 1:30 p.m..m . Grounds to be opened at 12:30 p.m. Admission is to be: -- $1.00 per adult Children under 12 FREE if accompanied by an adult L �- axim per family $2.00 Children on their awn 25* L e Darabarton-Pioltering MMwania are to provide and sell rofreShments. Food for the crew will be arranged for by Mrs. Spang. Mr. Marshall is to check on insurance for the crew. Mrs. Earle is to contact CHQO Radio also the Oshawa Radio and the local papers re: publicity and also see if any posters can he obtained within one week. The school board is to be notified and Mr. Cook is to contact CFRB and the television stations. Mr.. Miller is to ask Mr. Brown if he will do gate duty. Y Mr. McLean is to arrange a security group to man the build- ings for the day. An extra Board meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 17th, 1969 to finalize plans for this event. L C L4 , ' L -3- 6. Mr. Cook has suggested having photographs taken of the various buildings at difference stages of their reconstruc- Etion and it was agreed that he should arrange this.
