That Bramalea Limited be advised that the Municipality
relinquishes its first right of refusal for the acquisition
of the valley lands adjacent to Draft Plan of Subdivision
18T-78050 on the understanding that should negotiations
with the Conservation Authority not result in their acquiring
ownership of these lands, that the Municipality will be
given a further opportunity to acquire them.

That By-law 890/78 is in conformity with the Official Plan
of the Region of Durham and in force at the time this by-law
was passed, namely the 11th day of September 1978;
And that no further official plan has been proposed by
Council nor approved by the Ministry of Housing since passing
of said by-law 890/78 in which the said by-law would not
be in conformity.

5th 1978 for the new fire hall;
And that the funds be secured from the Capital Account

That the request of the Kinsmen Club of Bay Ridges, to
run a skate-a-thon in aid of Cystic Fybrosis and other
community projects, be granted and that public skating
be cancelled on December 28th 1978 from 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
in order that the skate-a-thon take place;
And that the normal hourly rate representing a total of
$250.00 for this time frame be charged to Account Number
G/L 2195, Council Grants.

That the report of the Director of Public Works dated November
2nd, 1978, with respect to the installation of street lights
on Greenwood Road be adopted and that he be authorized
to arrange for the installation of the necessary lights,
with the cost to be included in the 1979 Street Light Budget.

Whereas Section 636a of the Municipal Act as enacted by
Statutes of Ontario, 1973, c.124 transfers the responsibility
for the hearing of the applications for cancellation, reduction
or refund of taxes to the Council of the Municipality;
And Whereas notices in writing of applications have been
received by the Clerk of the Municipality for the cancellation,
reduction and refund of taxes for various reasons;
And Whereas upon investigation and receipt of reasonable
explanations all claims have been substantiated;
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the Council of the Town of
Pickering accept the following list of applications and
authorize the adjustment of taxes in the amount of $5,654.13
to be made accordingly.

for leave to introduce By-laws of the Town of Pickering:

Being a by-law to dedicate certain lands as a public highway
(Part Lot 19, Range 3, B.F.C. - Parts 5 and 6. Plan 40R-1123).

Being a by-law to authorize the execution of an Agreement
between Bramalea Ltd. and the Corportation of the Town
of Pickering to amend a Subdivision Agreement dated December
17, 1973 between the Corporation of the Town of Pickering
and Bramalea Ltd. respecting the development of Registered
Plans M-l057, M-l058 and M-l059.
THIRD. READING
Councillor Kitchen, seconded by Councillor Geraghty moved
that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-law
Numbers 918178, 920/78 be adopted, and that the said By-laws
be now read a Third Time and PASSED and that the Mayor
and Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of the Corporation
be affixed thereto.
CARRIED
By-laws read a first, second and third time and finally
passed.

That the Council of the Town of Pickering hereby supports
the Region of Durham in it's appeal to the Ont~~~oMunicipal
Board regarding the funding of erosion control projects
by the Metropolitan Toronto and Region Conservation Authority.

issue hunting licenses to only residents of the
Town of Pickering;
and that the permission of property owners south
of Highway #7 be secured prior to the issuance
of a hunting licence.

Councillor Cahill requested that the residents
of the Lookout Point subdivision be notified
when the petition regarding various street name
changes in this subdivision will be considered
by Council.
Councillor Cahill introduced the following res-
olution respecting salaries for members of Council

That the salaries of the Member of Council be increased
by approximately 6%, effective December 1, 1978, as follows:

Councillor Geraghty requested that the following
notice of motion be considered at a future Council
meeting:
That a by-law be prepared to declare Everton
Street a through street for its entire length.
4.
Councillor Geraghty inquired into the rumoured
widening of Glenanna Road, east of Liverpool
Road. The Town Manager replied that surveyors
are studying such a widening because Liverpool
Road may have a stop sign at this intersection.

Councillor Kitchen, seconded by Councillor Dickerson moved
for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering
to confirm the proceedings of the Council of the Corporation
of the Town of Pickering at its meeting held on the December
11th, 1978, and that same be now read a first, second and
third time and that the same be now finally passed and
that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal
of the Corporation be thereto affixed.
