COUNCIL MEETING
A special Council Meeting was held on Thursday, September 7th
1978 at 7:30 P.M.

The Special Meeting of Council was called to approve tenders
for the relocation of the Pickering Museum to Greenwood.
The Town Manager reviewed the history of this project and
submitted a report dated September 5th 1978 recommending
approval of the tender submitted by Bruce S. Evans in the
amount of $159,147.55 for general site works and the contract
submitted by Rutherford Contracting in the amount of $328,480.00
for the relocation of most structures.
Mr. Longden stated that some deletions were made from the
original specifications such as the comfort station, minor
landscaping work and ~new barn will be constructed instead
of moving the two old barns. It was emphasized that these
deletions will be compatible with the original site plan.
The Museum Advisory Committee concurred with these deletions
and although some concern was expressed about the comfort
station, it was agreed that the installation of this building
would be dictated by the future use of the museum.

That the tender of Bruce S. Evans in the amount of $159,147.55
for the General Site Works at the Greenwood Museum Site be accepted;

And Further that the contract of Rutherford Constracting for
the relocation of all structures excluding the two barns
at the Brougham Site, together with the construction of a
new 40' x 100' po1ebarn be adopted in the amount of
$328,480.00.
