That the Executive Committee Report dated October 26, 1981,
be adopted.

Seconded by Councillor Stoner
That the Council of the Town of Pickering hereby requests
the Region of Durham to install traffic signals at the
intersection of Glenanna and Liverpool Roads;
and that the Town finance the initial costs of installation
of the said traffic signals estimated to be between $25,000.00
and $30,000.00 on the understanding that the Region will
repay the Town these initial costs;
and that the Region expedite the installation as quickly
as possible.

That the request of The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 606,
to conduct its annual poppy drive from November 5, 1981
to November 11, 1981, be approved;
and that the Poppy Flag of Remembrance be flown at the
Municipal Offices during this time period;
and that the said Legion be permitted to conduct its annual
Remembrance Day Parade on November 8, 1981.

That staff be directed to negotiate with Eaglebrook Corpor-
ation Limited and Ontario Hydro for the acquisition of
a ten foot walkway commencing on the east side of Sandy
Beach Road opposite Alyssum Street and running easterly
to Dillingham Road.

Being a By-law to dedicate part of Lot 24, Concession 2,

(Maple Gate Road)
By-law Number 1389/81
Being a By-law to dedicate Part Lot 8, Plan 509, Pickering
(Parts 1, 5 and 6, Plan 40R-6623) as public highway (Valley
Farm Road)
By-law Number 1390/81
Being a By-law of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering
to amend By-law 1097/80 stopping up parts of Sheppard Avenue
and authorizing the sale of same to abutting property owners.

Being a By-law to authorize the execution of a Grant of
Easement between the Corporation of the Town of Pickering
and the Consumers' Gas Company Ltd. with respect to Part

THIRD READING
Councillor Cahill, seconded by Councillor Byers moved that
the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-law Numbers
1388/81, 1389/81, 1390/81, 1391/81, 1392/81, 1393/81, 1394/81,
1395/81 and 1396/81 be adopted, and that the said By-laws
be now read a Third Time and PASSED and that the Mayor
and Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of the Corporation
be affixed thereto.

By-laws read a first, second and third time and finally
passed.

(IV)
OTHER BUSINESS
1.
Councillor Cahill noted that postage costs in-
curred by the Town will increase by $18,000.00
in 1982 because of the increase in postage stamps
from 17rt to 30rt.
2.
Councillor Byers noted that the court hearing
on November 9, 1981 with respect to a pinball
parlour operating in contravention of the zoning
by-law could be adjourned to a later date.
3.
The following matters were discussed prior to
the regular meeting:
a)
A request from the Royal Canadian Legion
to transport 125 cadets from Ajax to the
Municipal Offices to participate in the Armis-
tice Day Services on November 8, 1981 was
refused.
b)
The regular Executive Committee Meeting of
December 28, 1981 was cancelled.

CONFIRMATION BY-LAW
By-law Number 1397/81
Councillor Cahill, seconded by Councillor Byers moved for
leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering to
confirm the proceedings of the Council of the Corporation
of the Town of Pickering at its meeting held on November
2, 1981, and that same be now read a first, second and
third time and that the same be now finally passed and
that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal
of the Corporation be thereto affixed.
CARRIED
By-law read a first, second and third time and finally
passed.

That the report of- the Town Manager dated Oct-
ober 9, 1981 regarding the establishment of
a four way stop at the intersection of Oklahoma
Drive and West Shore Boulevard be received.

OLD TRESPASS ROAD

That the Acting Town Manager be directed to
advise the owner of Lot 21, Plan 434, that
the Town is prepared to open that part of Old
Trespass Road between Woodview Avenue and the
southerly boundary of Lot 21, Plan 434, on
condition that the owner of Lot 21, Plan 434,
enter into an Agreement with the Town for the
construction of an appropriate-roadway at his
expense.
6.
THE ASSOCIATION OF
KINSMAN CLUBS

That the request of the Association of Kinsman
Clubs for the Town of Pickering to advertise
in its KIN Magazine be approved;
and that one advertisement be placed in the
said magazine at a cost not to exceed

is considering the termination of the existing
contract with the Ontario Humane Society for
animal control services on or about July 15,
