That Installation Permits be required for all wood or coal
burning devices, as recommended in the Fire Department
Annual Report for 1980;
and that staff be directed to prepare the necessary by-law
required to establish the issuance of said Intallation
Permits and that the by-law also provide for the inspection
of fireplaces, the installation of spark resistors and
the requirement to order all unsafe devices to be broughth
up to standard.

1265/81 be adopted, and that the said By-laws be now read
a Third Time and PASSED and that the Mayor and Clerk sign
the same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto.

By-law Number 1266/81
Councillor Robertson, seconded by Councillor Stoner moved
for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering
to confirm the proceedings of the Council of the Corporation
of the Town of Pickering at its meeting held on March 16,
1981, and that same be now read a first, second and third
time and that the same be now finally passed and that the
Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal of the
Corporation be thereto affixed.

the provisions of The Local Improvement Act
with the Municipality assuming a portion of

That the Director of Public Works be authorized
to arrange for the preparation of design draw-
ings for the construction of Clements Road,
running easterly from the Brock Road a distance
of approximately 1,310 feet;

partially through the provisions of The Local
Improvement Act and the assessment of abutting
properties;
and that the Director of Public Works prepare
an engineer's report in support of an appli-
cation under The Local Improvement Act;
and that an application be made to the Canadian
Transport Commission to secure their approval
to the proposed crossing of the C.N.R. at its
intersection with Clements Road.

That the report of the Director of Parks and
Recreation dated March 4, 1981 with respect
to a pool lift for the handicapped, be adopted;
and that the Department of Parks and Recreation
be authorized to purchase one only "Aqualift"
for the total amount of $8,510.78 for the Dun-
barton Indoor Pool and that the Town apply
for the 75% Wintario Capital Grant ($6,383.00)
and subsidize the remaining 25% capital cost
($2,127.78).
