Taylor - Town Clerk ABSENT Councillor Alex Robertson - (on vacation) (I) ADOPTION OF MINUTES Meeting of March 21, 1983 ( I I) RESOLUTIONS Resolution #33/83 - See Appendix #1 Moved by Councillor Cahill Seconded by Councillor Stoner That the Executive Committee Report dated March 28, 1983, be adopted with the following amendments: Item #11 was amended by deleting the words "or leased". Item #12 was lost. (V) CONFIRMATION BY-LAW By-law Number 1648/83 Councillor Cahill, seconded by Councillor Stoner moved for leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering to confirm the proceedings of the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering at its meeting held on the April 5, 1983, and that same be now read a first, second and third time and that the same be now finally passed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed. By-law Number 1647/83 Being a by-law to exempt Blocks 2, 3,4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15, Plan 40M-1254, from part lot control. 8/83 - 38 - THIRD READING Councillor Cahill, seconded by Councillor Stoner moved that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-law Numbers 1641/83, 1642/83, 1643/83, 1644/83, 1645/83, 1646/83 and 1647/83 be adopted, and that the said By-laws be now read a Third Time and PASSED and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. CARRIED By-laws read a first, second and third time and finally passed. (IV) 1. OTHER BUSINESS Councillor Stoner reminded Members of Council and the press that a symposium on abused women was being held at the Rouge Hills Library this evening. 2. The following matters were discussed prior to the regular meeting: a) The following resolution was passed with respect to the sale of the Manville Street building at 875 Dillingham Road to Howard Master Co. Ltd.: Resolution #37/83 Moved by Councillor Cahill Seconded by Councillor Stoner That the Corporation of the Town of Pickering hereby waives its first right of refusal to pur- chase lands owned by Manville Road Steel Warehous- ing Limited, 875 Dillingham Road, in Part of Lot 19, Range 3 more particularly described as Parts 1 and 2 on Reference Plan 40R-809. CARRIED b) The Town Manager recommended, and the Council concurred with certain dispositions with respect to industrial penalties owing by Willowridge Con- struction, Robert Braun Construction, Jack Jacobsen Bostwick extension and Bramalea Limited. c) The Council asked that the Woodlands Community Plan be reviewed by staff particularly as it af- fects the Highway #401 and Kingston Road corridor. ~~ -... 11 ./ ' APPENDIX #1 TOWN OF PICKERING The Executive Committee of the town of ,Pickering having met March 28, 1983 presents its sixth report to the Council of the Town of Pickering and recommends: 1.
