R.G. Dobbin, requested that By-law Number
1552/82 to stop up and close Old Trespass
Road be deferred for two weeks.

That the Report of the Executive Committee dated September
27, 1982 be adopted with the following amendments:
Item #3 be amended by adding the words "to the Community

tions in the Town, particularly Fieldlight Boulevard and
Glenanna Road."
Item #8 be deferred for two weeks.

Councillor Fisher, seconded by Councillor Stoner moved that
the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-law Numbers
1562/82, 1563/82, 1564/82, 1565/82, 1566/82, 1567/82, 1568/82,
1569/82, 1570/82, 1571/82, 1572/82, 1573/82, 1574/82 and
1575/82 be adopted with the following amendment:
By-law Number 1552/82 was deferred for two weeks
and that the said by-laws be now read a Third Time and PASSED
and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same, and the Seal of
the Corporation be affixed thereto.
CARRIED
By-laws read a first, second and third time and finally passed.

OTHER BUSINESS
1.
Councillor Byers, with the concurrence of Council,
requested that a registered letter be sent to the
Eaglebrook Corporation stating that the fencing
provisions of the subdivision agreement pertaining
to Plan M-1185 be complied with on or before
October 17, 1982 or their letter of credit will
be drawn from in order to complete the required
fencing.
2.
Councillor Stoner requested that the Crossing Guard
at the north end of the intersection of Brock Road
and Concession 9 Road be requested to patrol the
east end of the intersection as well.
3.
Councillor Stoner stated that the Ontario Land
Corporation will be selling its lands in North
Pickering. The O.L.C. stated that it will take
twenty years to dispose of this land and they do
not intend to sell it back to those they expropri-
ated it from. Councillor Stoner felt that the
Town should be better informed by the O.L.C. as
to its future plans and that they explain why
they are able to increase the rents of their
lessees by 20%.
4.
The Town Manager reported that the costs of the
Recreation Complex will be $863,000.00 over budget
because of contingencies and the imposition of
sales taxes on goods purchased by municipalities.

By-law Number 1576/82
Councillor Fisher, seconded by Councillor Byers moved for leave
to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering to confirm the
proceedings of the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Pickering at its meeting held on October 4, 1982 and that same
be now read a first, second and third time and that the same be
now finally passed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same
and that the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed.

By-law read a first, second and third time and finally passed.

The Executive Committee having met September 27, 1982
presents its sixteenth report to the Council of the Town
of Pickering and recommends:
1.
PER CAPITA GRANT TO
UNITED WAY OF AJAX-PICKERING

That provision be made in the 1983 budget for
a per capita grant of 32~ for the year 1983
to the United Way of Ajax - Pickering;
and that permission be granted to fly the United
Way flag at the Municipal Offices during the
campaign period.

Whereas Section 496 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O.,
1980, transfers the responsibility for the
hearing of the applications for cancellation,
reduction or refund of taxes to the Council

AND WHEREAS notices in writing of applications

8.
SALE OF THE CLOSED
PORTION OF OLD TRESPASS ROAD
FILE NUMBER - E 4410
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the
Town of Pickering has enacted By-law 1552/82
stopping-up certain portions of Old Trespass
Road being those parts of Lots 33 and 34, Range
3, B.F.C., designated as Part 1, Plan 40R-6529
and Part 1, Plan 40R-6570; and
WHEREAS the said Council has enacted By-law
/82 offering the sale of the said lands to
the owners of abutting lands at prices to be
fixed by Council, as required by the provisions
of section 316 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O.
1980m chapter 302;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
a)
The portion of Old Trespass Road closed
by By-law 1552/82 and authorized for sale
to owners of abutting lands by By-law
/82 be offered to those owners at prices
fixed according to the following Table:

a garage sale on the parking lot of the East
Shore Community Centre be approved.

SNOW PLOWING AT
CONDOMINIUM CORPORATION

That Whereas pursuant to paragraph (ii) of
subsection 62 of section 210 of the Municipal
Act, by-laws may be passed by the councils
of local municipalities for entering into agree-
ments with a condominium corporation for clear-
ing away and removing snow and ice from roads
on the condominium property;
Now Therefore staff be directed to report on
the feasibility of plowing the snow from the
internal roads at condominium corporations,
said report to include the costs and grants
or subsidies available for such an undertaking.

12.
GO TRANSIT SERVICE
TO CLAREMONT AREA

Whereas residents in the Claremont area of
the Town of Pickering were served by the
Toronto-Peterborough-Havelock commuter train;
and
Whereas this service has now been discontinued
by the Federal Government, and
Whereas there is a definite need for commuter
service in the Claremont area,
Now Therefore the Council of the Corporation
of the Town of Pickering hereby requests that
the Toronto Area Transit Operating Authority
service the Claremont area aof the Town of
Pickering with a GO transit bus service.

OF KINGSTON ROAD

dated September 23, 1982 to close that portion
of Valley Farm Road south of Kingston Road
between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
and on weekends and holidays while the apart-
