Councillor Cahill, seconded by Councillor Robertson moved
for leave to introduce By-laws of the Town of Pickering:
By-law Number 1426/82
To alter the wards within the Town of Pickering.
By-law Number 1427/82
To authorize the execution of an Agreement between Emma
Nellie Krygsman and the Corporation of the Town of Pickering
respecting the construction of part of Milton Road (LD147/81).
By-law Number 1428/82
Being a Restricted Area By-law to amend Restricted Area
By-law 3036, as amended, to implement the Official Plan
of the Town of Pickering District Planning Area, Region
of Durham, in Part Lot 28, Concession 1 in the Town of
Pickering.
By-law Number 1429/82
To authorize the execution of an Agreement between J.F.
Coughlan Construction Co. Ltd. and the Corporation of the
Town of Pickering respecting the future development of
Part Lot 33, Range 3, B.F.C., Pickering (LD275!81).
By-law Number 1430/82
To amend the Town of Pickering Municipal Code to fix instal-
ment dates respecting the collection of taxes.

By-law Number 1431/82
To amend the Town of Pickering Municipal Code to adopt
the 1982 estimates of all sums required during the year
for the purposes of the Municipality of the Corporation
of the Town of Pickering and to provide for the levying
of the rates necessary to cover the estimated 1982 levy
from the Council of the Corporation of the Regional Munici-
pality of Durham.
By-law Number 1432/82
To amend By-law 1064/79 licensing, regulating and governing
taxicabs and limousine drivers, owners and brokers.

The following motion was considered in conjunction with
By-law 1426/82:

That By-law 1426/82 be amended to provide for a five ward
system as per sample submitted and to assure that the resi-
dents in the rural area shall always have representation
on the Council of the Town of Pickering regardless of where
the Regional representative resides.

THIRD READING
Councillor Robertson, seconded by Councillor Cahill moved
that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-law
Numbers 1426/82, 1427/82, 1428/82, 1429/82, 1430/82, 1431/82
and 1432/82 be adopted, and that the said By-laws be now
read a Third Time and PASSED and that the Mayor and Clerk
sign the same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed
thereto.

OTHER BUSINESS

Councillor Byers requested a report on what will
be accomplished with the by-law to licence places
of amusement.

That the Town of Pickering request the Ministry
of Transportation and Communications to install
a flashing light at the intersection of Highway
#7 and Regional Road #31 (Westney Road).
CARRIED
3.
Staff was directed to prepare a Development Plan
for the Hamlet of Greenwood to be submitted to
Council in the Fall of 1982. Engineering studies
are to be prepared by the developer of the proposed
subdivision in Greenwood only for this particular
property and at his cost.

By-law Number 1433/82
Councillor Cahill, seconded by Councillor Byers moved for
leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering to
confirm the proceedings of the Council of the Corporation
of the Town of Pickering at its meeting held on January
25, 1982 and February 1, 1982, and that same be now read
a first, second and third time and that the same be now
finally passed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same
and that the Seal of the Corporation be thereto affixed.
CARRIED
By-law read a first, second and third time and finally
passed.
