directly to the municipality if there are tax arrears for land

Pickering hereby directs the Treasurer-Collector to enforce
Section 371 of the Municipal Act with respect to lands owned by
J.D.S. Investments Limited and which are occupied by tenants.

Counci 11 or Van Kempen, seconded by Counci 11 or Johnson moved for
1 eave to introduce a By-1 aw of the Town of Pi ckeri ng to confi rm
those proceedings of the Council of the Corporation of the Town
of Pickering at its meeting held on the 21st day of May, 1991
and that the same be now read a first, second and third time and
that the same be now finally passed and that the Mayor and Clerk
sign the same and that the Seal of the Corporation be thereto
affixed.

OTHER BUSINESS
Councillor Van Kempen stated that David Crombie will
be at the Recreation Complex on June 13, 1991 to
discuss his report for the Royal Commission for the
Waterfront.
2.
Councillor Brenner asked if MTRCA is considering
charging a pedestrian fee for access to Petticoat
Creek Conservation Park.

Councillor Brenner stated he will introduce a Notice
of Motion for the June 3, 1991 Council Meeting with
respect to permi tti ng constructi on 24 hours a day on
the Rouge River bridge.
Councillor Dickerson introduced the following Notice
of Motion for the June 3,1991 Council Meeting:

Whereas Town of Pickering By-law 2359/87 provides that
no veh i c 1 e sha 11 pa rk on any street for a peri od of
longer than three hours unless there is a total
parking prohibition on that street; and
Whereas many residents have visitors that stay at
thei r houses longer than three hours but whose
vehicles do not inhibit the flow of traffic; and
Whereas many residents do not have adequate off-street
parking facilities and are required to park their
vehicles on the road without inhibiting the flow of
traffic;

Now Therefore the Counc; 1 of the Corporati on of the
Town of Pickering hereby directs that the Parking
Control Officers work no later than 9:00 p.m. and no
earlier than 7:00 a.m. on any day for the enforcement
of the Parking By-law.

Councillor Dickerson asked if any companies have
requested that their corporate name be changed.

have improved access for the physically handicapped.

alternatives to sirens for use in emergency

That Town Council recommend to Regional Council that Draft
Plan of Subdivision l8T-90031, submitted by Design Plan
Servi ces Inc., on behalf of the owner Cougs Investments
Ltd., on lands being Part of Lots 29 and 30, Concession 1,
Town of Pi cker; ng, be APPROVED AS REVISED subject to the
following conditions:

That this recommendation apply to the plan prepared
by Design P1 an Servi ces Inc., dated December 6, 1990

All homes shall be constructed of brick veneer.

All homes shall be of equal quality, workmanship
and compatibility with the homes already built in
the existing community.
The area withi n the road allowance on the south
side of the development abutting the noise wall
shall be grassed.

The app1 icant shall construct a 1.8 metre
pressure-treated fence (1.5 metre board-on-board
and 0.3 metre trim) on the rear lot line of Lots
19-23 abutting existing rear lots of homes
fronting Gardenview Square.
Upon completion of re-grading, a pressure-treated
fence shall be constructed to match the existing
fences in the area along the north side lot lines
of Lots 1, 10, 11, 18 and 19 where they abut the
existing community.

RESUBMISSION OF DESIGNATED PROPERTY GRANT
TO ALTONA MENNONITE CHURCH AND CEMETERY

Cemetery for plastering repairs to the interior of the
church and for cemetery works be approved and

That the Counci 1 of the Corporati on of the Town of
Pickering authorizes the publication of a Public
Noti ce regardi ng the destruction of weeds under the
provision of the Weed Control Act of the Province of
Ontario and directs the Regional Weed Inspectors to
cause noxious weeds or weed seeds to be destroyed in
such a manner as they may deem proper;
and that the expenses incurred by the sale Weed
Inspectors in the discharge of their duties shall be
placed on the Collector's Roll of the Town of
Pickering against the respective parcels concerned and
that such amounts shall be collected in the same
manner as taxes under the Municipal Act.
