Councillor Brenner repor~ed ~ha~ ~he Hul~icul~ural
Council of Durham Region held a workshop ~ha~ was well
a~~ended by people from Pickering.

Councillor Brenner fur~her repor~ed ~ha~ ~he girls
volleyball ~eam of Ganda~se~iagon Public School placed
second in a Provincial ~ournamen~ and received a
silver medal.

Councillor Johnson thanked Mayor Witty of Ajax for his
assistance as a member of the M. T . R. C . A. in sol v ing
the flooding problem in Claremont.

Councillor Johnson reported that he received a copy of
a letter from a resident requesting that funds be
provided to upgrade the Pickering/Uxbridge Townline.
5.
Councillor Johnson complimented Diana Hills of
Pickering Hydro for her success with the United Way
Auction.
6.
Councillor Higdon reported that David Crombie of the
Waterfront Trust will be holding public meetings in
Whitby this week.

Mayor Arthurs reported that the

business openings in their ward.

The Town Solicitor advised that the Director of
Public Works will be printing the 1993 garbage
collection schedule next week. The Council
directed that yard waste is to be picked up once
per month during the summer.

Councillor Brenner advised Council of a personnel
matter.
d)
Councillor Pistritto asked when the leases with
Arntz and Coburn will expire.

Councillor Johnson, seconded by Councillor Brenner moved for
leave to introduce a By-law of the Town of Pickering to confirm
those proceedings of the Council of the Corporation of the Town
of Pickering at its meeting held on the 16th day of November,
1992 and that the same be now finally passed and that the Mayor
and Clerk sign the same and that the Seal of the Corporation be
thereto affixed.

recommends:

That the Ministry of Municipal Affairs be advised that
the Town of Pickering recommends the approval of
Minister's Zoning Order Amendment Application
18-Z0-0299101(1), submitted by Settlements Inc., on
behalf of the owners, on lands being Part of Lot 11,
Concession 5, Town of Pickering, as revised to permit
the creation of one residential lot for the
construction of a dwelling with a minimum lot frontage
of 5.0 metres and a minimum lot area of 0.4 hectares,
subject to the conditions outlined in Appendix No. I
to Recommendation Report No. 18/92.
2)
That Council endorse the revised development concept
as shown in Attachment #3 to Recommendation Report
18/92 for one additional lot to be considered through
land severance applications LD 211/91 & 212/91 subject
to any adjustments to the building envelope and lot
line required as a result of reviewing additional
information respecting a detailed tree inventory and
identification of the existing watercourse.
