Carl Andognini, Executive Vice President and Chief Nuclear Officer, Ontario Power Generation Inc., stated that OPG continues to be open and accessible to the public even after the change from Ontario Hydro to OPG and safety continues to be the number one priority. He presented the second quarter report on the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station and noted that performance indicators have improved over the past two years. He is committed to public meetings to receive input on the restart of Pickering "A" and will adopt a reasonable scope as part of the environmental assessment. He stated that he will consider a reasonable proposal from the Town to retain a consultant at OPG's cost to monitor the environmental assessment process. ... 8 . ,,- 3. 4. 5. 8 6. 51 3. Irene Koch, representing Durham Nuclear Awareness, stated that she is concerned that OPG will be arranging public consultation as part of the environmental assessment process.
