FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:

BACKGROUND:
The Department of Parks & Facilities for many years has envisioned a restaurant operating
within or adjacent to the Pickering Recreation Complex. .
The existing concession does not and cannot supply a healthy food menu in the context of
the present operation. Also most persons who attend at the Complex for special events or
toumaments leave the facility for meals.
1'he introduction of an upscale licensed eating pleco on site will encourage these persons
to stay at the facility end thereby generata revenues for the operatoi• and the Complex.
+ The recent development at the Iroquois Park Complex in Whitby substentiates this
position
 • The introduction of a licensed rostaurant into our family orientated Complex is not
oxpected to be reviewed negetively provided proper design and wntrols ara initiated with
our potentiel partnero.
The proJect would not proceed without eubetantid, guerentad aupport of e partner.
